On the one hand…
On the other hand…
Today I’m grateful that I was able to pay some bills, eat homemade carrot cake muffins that I made for my family, sleep longer than usual, get on my computer even though I need a new one.
And now your Friday Fortune Cookie
(don’t forget to add “in bed” at the end, if you are so inclined):
Don’t forget to be grateful.

OH gratefulness in bed is the best place to find it.. I want my camera back so bad and hopefully I can be grateful my refund came in and I can get it back out of pawn.. sighs and pouts
unknownmami says
I want you to have your camera back too.

I was just thinking about the word in Spanish, la gripe. It’s easy to complain, especially if one has reason. Many of my friends have la gripe right now. I am grateful I can pay my bills, which I am doing today, and I, too, am grateful for computer time even if the screen occasionally has “issues.” I would love a new one, too.

Yesterday the “L” key on my computer started flapping as in it is trying to break off. I started to get upset and then realized, it’s just a minor inconvenience and that my computer still does most of what it needs to do and that it is just a reminder to start saving up for a new one.
lisleman says
Ah it might be a reminder that you use the “L” too much. Lay off the “L” or else a little key will leave you “ove” instead of “love”.
Indigo Roth says
Hey Claudya! I like to reflect and appreciate, and will always talk about the good things that happen in a day, not the bad. I salute you! Indigo
unknownmami says
Salute you right back, my friend.
MommyLisa says
HA HA HA. Love that fortune.

Great reminder. I think sometimes loneliness is masked by complaints, people who want others to reach out to them and support them. It’s an immature way to get friends to support but it’s common. Kind of like the little neglected kid trying to get their parents attention by being bad. Little do they realize that reaching out and encouraging others brings it back to you. You, C. Are an encourager and you deserve every good thing you get.
unknownmami says
Wow, talk about being an encourager. Thank you!

Those are beautiful things to have in your life. Making a gratefulness list always helps me put things into perspective.

I hear ya about the “need a new computer” deal. I’ve been thinking the same thing about me.

What a great reminder 🙂 Grateful for Fridays as well!!!

carrot cake – great with rich frosting and crunchy nuts. I don’t know about your muffins but I bet your family loves them. Muffins are more personal than cakes. Sharing cake is more common than sharing muffins. I should apply for grant money to study the differences between cakes and muffins. Nah, maybe I’m just getting the late afternoon munchies.
My Inner Chick says
Homemade carrot cake? YEAHhh, Baby! Xx
Angelia Sims says
I’m grateful that this morning was a calmer day at work. So nice not to be slammed. 🙂 Carrot cake muffins? Yum!
Becca Gallery says
Homemade carrot cake muffins? Recipe please! How do they compare to your mexican chocolate oatmeal ones?
unknownmami says
Maybe I’ll post the recipe next week. I would say these are a bit more dense/hearty than the Mexican chocolate oatmeal muffins. I don’t think I can choose between the two as I like them both. The carrot ones are low fat because I replace the butter with applesauce, which also lets me cut the sugar in half.
Becca Gallery says
Awesome. I do the applesauce trick with brownies (in lieu of oil), but didn’t know it could work for butter too. Thanks!

Yeah it’s so easy to focus on all the crap when really there are so many things we can all be grateful about. Happy Saturday to you!

Ahhh, the simple things in life are often the best! And complaining doesn’t change anything so why do it? Great reminders!! Thanks Mami!!

I feel what you wrote in your post today, Claudya. I am a little non-existent right now, as my head is all focused on my wounds. 😀 Taking longer than it should, thanks to an allergy kicking in at the most inappropriate time. Although, what time is appropriate for any setback? 🙂 Hugs. You inspire.
