This year we decided to adopt a new tradition: a family ornament exchange. We did it secret Santa style and drew names out of a hat, but since there are only four of us participating, we didn’t really keep it a secret.
I have to say that I was really proud of all of us for choosing ornaments that were so perfect for the recipient.
Let me show you the ornaments from our first annual ornament exchange!
I was gifted with a Frida ornament.
My youngest daughter pulled my name out of the hat and she gave me this lovely Frida Kahlo inspired ornament. I love it!
Is it a Rubik’s cube or an ornament?
It’s both. It’s a functioning cube puzzle that doubles as an ornament. My husband got it for our eldest daughter who can solve one of these things in less than a minute.
A personalized unicorn for our resident unicorn lover.
I got this unicorn for our youngest daughter. Her love of unicorns continues to go strong.
A custom Lego skateboarder.
This might be my favorite ornament of the bunch because my eldest daughter came up with the idea and put it together for her father who grew up skateboarding and still does so on occasion. She got a fingerboard, glued that Lego dude on and added a cord so that it can hang on a tree.
