Our Love Story Is Simple

Our love story is simple: couple's shadow.

Some love stories are complicated and I’m not trying to say that our love story hasn’t had a complication here and there, but when you get right down to how it is that we fell in love, our love story is simple. We fell in love over the course of many walks. We walked and talked our way into each other’s hearts and to this day I think we are at our best when we are walking together.

This weekend, we went for a walk, just the two of us. We walked through the Panhandle in San Francisco and talked like we talk on our walks. It’s a beautiful kind of talking, a kind of sharing and meandering through our thoughts. We walk side by side, get to know each other in the present and fall in love with each other all over again.

Couple walking together

During our walk, my husband spotted the couple above and said, “Take a picture of them.” He didn’t have to explain to me that they are like a snapshot of our future selves, walking side by side, talking, bonding, and loving each other every step of the way.

Like I said, our love story is simple: We walked into each other’s lives, we started walking together and if we are lucky, we’ll walk into old age together.
