Sometimes I wonder why I keep wishing for things that sometimes feel impossible and then I remember that things I thought were impossible have actually happened to me. Why not believe in the possibility of the impossible or the seemingly impossible? Why not name what we want? Why not call for it by wishing? I dare you to believe in the possibility of the impossible and wish with me.
Here’s what I’m wishing for this week…
Wishes for myself:
- I went for a rather bold choice frame-wise with my new prescription eyeglasses, please let them grow on me because right now I’m freaking out that I spent all this money to look like a crazy octogenarian (not that there’s anything wrong with that).
- My appointment with the glaucoma specialist is this Friday. Help me take care of and preserve my eyesight.

Wishes for others:
- For friends that are experiencing the loss of loved ones: may they find comfort and support.
- Lorraine is wishing “for the resistance and goodwill to pervade.”
- Marla’s wish “for peace that passes all understanding to flood [my] heart, body and soul today and each day after.” Just reading her words makes me feel better. My wish for her is that she continue to challenge herself and celebrate every victory.
- Deborah’s 93-year-old father fell and broke his hip recently. He had surgery on Sunday. Deborah flew to Florida to be with him and he’s confused and disoriented. Please help the fog clear for him. Also, wishing Deborah a break from worry.
- Laurie wants the Saints to win the 2017 Super Bowl because they are one of the teams playing. No, wait! Clearly, she is suffering from an acute case of #alternativefacts. My wish for her is that she continue to use her wonderful sense of humor; it does me good.
- Mari wishes for justice and peace.
- My wonderful primo Gino’s wish in his own words is: “My wish is for All – for peace of mind, calming of emotions, stress to be released from our bodies and for all of to come together and rejoice in the unconditional love we have for one another. We have to stay together as we are stronger together and together we WILL overcome and prevail !!!!” YASS to everything he said.
- Will sends me “and the rest of the good peeps up in dis joint, positivity vibes and loads of aloha.” I wish it all right back at him.
- Richard is wishing for happiness at work. I wish him happy work and working happiness.
- Paty is wishing that all those who are in positions of power politically or socially channel strength, enlightenment and the ability to think outside of the box in order to come up with solutions for problems we are facing. She’s also wishing for the well-being of those who are stranded in Mexico after leaving their hometowns due to war or socio-economic reasons. May they be helped before it becomes a humanitarian crisis. And kind soul that she is, she wants to know what’s up with my whole eye situation and is wishing that things will go well for me. I’ll keep ya posted, Paty.
- Sharan wants everyone to “stop catering to the lowest common denominator. Be it [in] the education system, the media or whoever or whatever. People will rise to the standards they are expected to uphold. Be that standard!” I accept that challenge. I will be that standard.
- Rachel wants love to win. I know it will, so I will add to that wish by saying that I want love to win soon.
- My beautiful friend Ian is wishing calm for me. I take a moment to absorb the calm being sent my way and it helps, it really does.
- Migdalia is wishing for the decrease of my anxiety. I wish for an overabundance of joy for her.
- “That I hit the powerball very soon so I can escape to a private island where I am bound by the laws of no man, can read all day on the beach and open a writers retreat. Is that *too* much to wish for?” asks Tracy. I say, “No.” No wish is too big. Even if it doesn’t all come true, some of it might. Like that writers retreat. I want in on that wish.
- Sigi is wishing for everyone’s wishes to come true and to one day be free.
