I love a good sense of humor, don’t you? Humor fascinates me to the point where I can fall in love with a person just because of their sense of humor. To me a good sense of humor is as vital as any of our other senses. I certainly wouldn’t want to go through life without a sense of humor, would you?
I ponder the concept of humor often. Like how do we develop it and when do we develop it? Is it innate? Are some people just born funny or do we catch our sense of humor from those around us like some sort of funny infection?

I’ve always kind of thought that a sense of humor is something we are born with because from personal experience I’ve had mine for as long as I can remember and it feels uniquely my own and not like something I picked up from my surroundings. Sure we develop it and hone it over time, but somehow I think it’s wired into our DNA and after watching this video of the funniest baby on the internet (as far as I’m concerned) I am even more convinced that funny people are funny from the womb.
I mean just look at this video below and tell me it isn’t amazing that a baby as young as this one is using humor in a very deliberate way. The baby’s father is trying to cut the baby’s fingernails, but this little jokester fake cries when the scissors get near and then cracks up afterward. This happens a few times and both daddy and baby are having a great time. As far as I can tell, the baby is being funny on purpose and it’s absolutely wonderful.

What do you think? Are we born funny or do we get our sense of humor later in life?

That is too cute! I believe we are born funny. Our sons quick wit is amazing, just like his dads only better and he was born with it!

That baby is the cutest thing! I do think a sense of humor is innate in a lot of people. My kids are a reflection of their father and have had a dry wit since they could talk.
