San Francisco is not known for being a hot place. It’s known for being foggy, temperate and kind of chilly in comparison to other cities in California, but dang it if it hasn’t been hotter than Hades lately.
San Francisco smashed their all-time max temperature record today, 9/1/2017, with a reading 106. The previous record was 103 in 2000. pic.twitter.com/V86fYQe2jA

On Friday, it was 106 degrees making it the hottest day on record for San Francisco. And let me tell you that it feels WRONG. Very wrong. The average high for San Francisco on September 1 is 70 degrees. We were 36 degrees over the average.

Also, not to sound like I’m b!tching (even though I totally am) because I realize that nature has been much crueler to so many as of late, but we are wimps that are unaccustomed and thus unprepared for this kind of weather. We don’t have air conditioning in many homes or even businesses.
It's almost midnight. It's 85 degrees in our house. No one has AC in SF, so every window is open. This sucks.

It’s so hot and uncomfortable that it feels like your are getting beat up by furious fists of fire.
The weather in sf feels like a personal attack, no one has ac we're not prepared for this

People who know about these sort of things attribute the ridonculous temperatures to a “bulging area of high pressure or heat dome” that decided to hang out over California. It should be cooling down shortly and we can all go back to b!tching about the fog soon *fingers crossed*.
In the meantime, over at my place, we’ve done our best to stay cool by hanging out in the shade, drinking lots of water and pulling out the kiddie pool.

Afraid I love the heat not that we’ve had much this summer. Once again, it is raining!
LydiaCLee says
It rained for weeks for us in summer but when it wasn’t, it was about 40 degrees – it was stifling. Our winter has had glorious 28 degree days (C not F) but the garden is stressed as a result…

The weather is just getting madder and madder… Wish the climate deniers would come around, already! >:( Sorry you’ve been suffering so!

The girls look like they were having fun! You have been hot. Of course we have been hot too in Southern California which is not unusual for us but this summer has been the worst!
