San Francisco is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love. In honor of that summer in 1967 when the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood was a countercultural hub filled with artists, musicians, writers and activists keen on on challenging the status quo, the de Young Museum is hosting The Summer of Love Experience: Art, Fashion, and Rock and Roll. The pathways right outside the museum are covered with signs like the ones above.
