037San Francisco is the birthplace of the Mission-style burrito. Named after the Mission District in San Francisco. What makes it Mission-style? The size. It is roughly the size of your forearm. If it’s not ginormous, then it is not a Mission-style burrito.

I showed you mine, now show me yours.

Hello!  Visiting by way of Vidya Sury’s blog.  LOVE your blog, too, and I love this idea of “Sundays in my City”.  I think I may just be linking up next Sunday.  Fabulous!  And that burrito?  A beautiful thing indeed.

Today, my contribution actually should be entitled “Sundays in YOUR City.” Yup, I spent Turkey Day in the City by the Bay, and I even got to consume a Mission Burrito, or two!

I am completely unaware of a mission style burrito, but since burritos are my most favorite food ever I’m sure I would love one.  And now I’m hungry… thanks a lot

I love that sign. I can’t believe that I lived in SF for four years and never knew that those burritos were named after the district. Everyday I learn something new…
