    What a fun way to keep a bit of history in tact, even after the original diner is long gone. Our “town” is rapidly developing and many old funky stores, restaurants and so on are being wiped out. It would be so cool to have the signs and mascots that lived outside those old places memorialized and made into feature landmarks just like this one. – G

    I totally want to go to the Doggie Diner. If I ever am lucky enough to make it to San Fran I’ll call you and maybe we can meet there!….but I guess it’s just a landmark and not an actual place to eat? Oh well.

      It used to be a place to eat, but no longer. The only thing that survives is that sign.
