A hearty thank you to director Jorge Gutierrez and producer Guillermo del Toro for creating the animated feature film The Book of Life that opens in theaters on October 17 because it’s a film I can take my kids to see and that I’m quite excited about seeing as well.
The cast list is bonkers in a good way. It stars Zoe Saldana, Diego Luna, Channing Tatum, Ron Perlman, Ice Cube, Danny Trejo, and has so many other stars in it that will blow your mind … oh yeah, like Cheech Marin, Placido Domingo, Eugenio Derbez, Kate del Castillo, Ice Cube and MORE! I’m telling you it is a star-studded cast.
The story is a vibrant fantasy-adventure, which tells the legend of Manolo, a conflicted hero and dreamer who sets off on an epic quest through magical, mythical and wondrous worlds in order to rescue his one true love and defend his village. Check out the trailer!
