Hola Chulas y Chulos! It’s time for your weekly smack of The Flying Chancla Report. My chancla has been all over the internets looking for items that you will give a flying chancla about.

I might be more than a little excited about Disney and Somos Productions bringing a 13 episode mini-series about Mexican singer and songwriter extraordinaire Juan Gabriel to television. The series is called, “Hasta que te conocí” and will air in the U.S. via TNT, Telemundo in the U.S. and Azteca in Mexico. It’s going to basically cover how “El Divo de Juárez” became “El Divo de Juárez.” I can’t wait!

A Taco Bell planned for Wicker Park, Chicago might be the first Taco Bell in the nation to serve booze. Management has applied for a liquor license and if all goes well, this could set a precedent for other Taco Bells. We shall see.
- Speaking of alcohol, have you had a michelada recently or ever? The ones pictured aboved come courtesy of Muy Bueno Cookbook. In case you don’t know what a michelada is; it’s a spicy tangy Mexican beer concoction. It’s yummy and perfect for the upcoming summer months. Check out how to make one in the video below.
- And in news that makes me want to drink because REALLY?! Salma Hayek was talkin’ truth at an event hosted by Variety on Saturday May 16th for the Cannes Film Festival. She said, “The only kind of movie where women make more than men is the porno industry.” Oh how I wish Salma were wrong, but the truth is the truth.
Okay, my lovely Chancleros, that’s all my flying chancla has time for this week. Remember, spread love, not chanclazos!

I like the idea of a michelada – it just looks so good, but it’s too spicy for me.

But you can make a chelada without the spicy stuff. Still super good. Mostly I have cheladas instead of the micheladas.
