The Flying Chancla Report

The Flying Chancla Report

Hola Chulas y Chulos! How you doin’? Well, brace yourselves because it’s time for this week’s The Flying Chancla Report. Let’s see what my chancla has come across this week…

  • Did you hear that Shakira has been totally typecast in Disney’s “Zootopia” movie? Yup, she’s playing Gazelle who is get this the biggest pop star in Zootopia. Not only does Gazelle have Shakira’s voice, she’s also got the same kind of shapely hips and they dress alike. You know Shakira would totally rock an outfit like this one on stage. See what I mean about typecast? I’m kidding, of course.

  • Both my chanclas and I go to therapy on Thursdays when our schedule allows and when the weather is nice, I like to take the bus there as opposed to driving so that I can walk home. Well, on the most recent walk home I stopped at Whole Foods to get some kale and organic junk food (hahaha…it’s still junk, but it’s organic) and I came across these boxes of Dave’s Killer Bread.

I know nothing about #DavesKillerBread, but I like the messaging on the side of their shipping boxes.

I was in a woe is me kind of mood after therapy and the messaging on the sides of the boxes took me out of myself and made me smile so I shared on Instagram where it was suggested I get to know more about the company because they have great bread AND a great story. I am so glad I did find out more about this company because they are amazing! Check this out: 1 in 3 of their employees has a criminal background because they are committed to giving second chances. As someone who is related to people who have criminal backgrounds and has seen them struggle trying to find work afterward, I started BAWLING while watching this video. Please watch it: Sometimes all someone needs is a second chance. I hope more companies follow the example of Dave’s Killer Bread.

  • Do you know anything about AB SOTO/Mr. Soto? I didn’t and then my hubby sent me this Cha Cha Bitch video and I might be a fan now.
  • This woman is awesome. Her name is Yuki Nishitzawa and while she was in labor at a hospital in Boston, she opted to go medication-free and instead used dance to take her mind off the pain. She did the “Tootsee Roll” while her hubby chuckled and filmed her moves.

The buttafly… uhn uhn thats old! Let me see your tootsie roll! Click the youtube link on my page so we can reach a million veiws! http://youtu.be/UU_aWDu9jto

In case the Facebook version doesn’t show for you, here is the YouTube version:

I’m telling you, she makes it look easy, but I am so impressed. I was to busy coming up with new curse words to dance when I had my baby without pain killers. Congratulations to her and her family who welcomed a 6 pound, 15 ounce baby boy named Cojio into the world after that dance party.

  • I am laughing SOOOOO hard because of this Millennials of New York  Instagram account that is a parody of Humans of New York. Instead of giving you inspiring stories of interesting people, it gives you millennial nonsense to laugh at like this…

“We live in such a politically contentious and difficult time, but so few people my age are actually willing to do anything about it. People need to WAKE up and smell the ESPRESSO. That’s why I always share political articles on Facebook whenever I see them. In fact, I share so many that I don’t have time to actually read any of them—that’s how hard I’m working to make this world a better place. But some people I know hardly share political articles at all. It’s like they don’t even care about the pending avocado shortage, or whatever is happening in Africa. I’m doing my part, but honestly I can only share so much.”

My favorite part is, “That’s why I always share political articles on Facebook whenever I see them. In fact, I share so many that I don’t have time to actually read any of them—that’s how hard I’m working to make this world a better place.” Whoever is writing the captions on these photos is HILARIOUS!

That’s it for this week’s The Flying Chancla Report. I love you mucho and remember, spread love, not chanclazos!
