The Flying Chancla Report: Lin-Manuel Miranda Is out, Drake as Hamilton and Cholo Makeup Artists

Hola Chulas y Chulos! Hope you got your pompis ready for this week’s The Flying Chancla Report because it’s comin’ at ya like ahorita!

• My chancla and I have been spending a lot of time on Snapchat, we love it over there. If you are on there please look for “TheUnknownMami” so we can snap at ya. Anygüeys, while we were over there, we saw our buddy Guapologa (follow her on Snapchat too) watching the cholos that do videos for We Are Mitú (the excellent website that this chancla owner happens to be a writer for) doing makeovers. Basically the cholos get handed a bag of makeup and are asked to cholafy someone. The results are hilarious and definitely leave the women looking unrecognizable, but the best part of the cholo series is always the cholos themselves. Watch, laugh and love the cholos.

• Have you heard the theater chisme? There is big time speculation that Lin-Manuel Miranda the creator and star of the Broadway musical hit “Hamilton” may be leaving the show after July 9. Miranda was asked in an interview by Rolling Stone if he would be staying or going and he responded:

  I don’t know that I want to break the news here. But I can tell you that with In the Heights, I did a year. I did a year and got out. And that show was as successful and joyous as anything I’ve ever done. But I still needed time to write, and so I did a year.

  Hmmm, sounds a lot like he’s going, no? I wonder how pissed people who already have tickets to the show after July 9 are going to be if Miranda isn’t in the show? I’m sure the show will still be great without him. As I told a friend who was wondering who would replace him, “There are a lot of talented individuals who can rap. Someone should call Drake on his cellphone.” I’m kind of kidding, but if it happens—you heard it here first.
