Normally, I wouldn’t suggest that anyone go to the office on the weekend, but that’s just what the fams and I did because The Office we went to this weekend is a restaurant in San Carlos, California.
Hubby has been there before with coworkers and wanted me to try it out. It was opened by Steve Hicks and Dave Parks who in 2010 transformed their real estate office into what is now a bar and grill kinda place where you can catch live music sometimes or watch a game on their big screens.
Apparently, it gets quite busy, but since we were there having an early lunch there was plenty of space available. The food was good with a bit of excellence thrown in here and there. Por ejemplo, we ordered the Buffalo Bites as a starter and they were AMAZEBALLS. Also my kids eat nothing, as in they like very few things (I know, I’m a total failure as a parent), but they ate with gusto.
Put Pie, our eldest got hot dogs and fries from the kids menu. Instead of one large hot dog, the kids are served two small ones which are cute. They still add up to a lot and Put Pie could only finish one. Our youngest, Luna Pie, got the kids chicken tenders and went to town on them. They have a great crunchy crust on them and she made sure we packed the extra to go.
I got a Cobb salad with grilled chicken and it was good, but I’m not going to lie to you, I would NEVER order it again. It just wasn’t great. I also got their Hibiscus Margarita and again, it was good, but I would never get it again. It was a little too sour for me and I was bummed because it was served in a glass that had just come out of the dishwasher. The glass was hot and even though the drink was iced, who wants an icy drink served in a hot glass? Not me. Hubby got a cheese steak with onion rings and loved both. I tried the onion rings and they are some of the best onion rings I’ve ever had.
I would totally go to The Office again. I’d love to try more of their starters because I could totally make a meal out of appetizers there.

Bummer about the drink, it looked super tasty! We will be in CA this summer, I should look to see if San Carlos is near any of the places we will be.

The drink looked so refreshing – looks can be deceiving. Sounds like you had a good time anyway.

Looks like an office worth visiting.

Trust me, I have the pickiest eaters ever so don’t feel the failure. I can’t get them to eat anything! Shame about the hibiscus margarita because it looks yummy. But if your kids ate, I guess it’s still a win.

Sounds like a fun place to eat. If I’m ever in the area I will definitely try it out!

I think you would like it. I can tell that the majority of the items on the menu are going to be great, I just didn’t pick the right items for me, but those Buffalo bites were amazing.
