Our friends invited us over to celebrate their 7-year-old’s birthday and this is the view from their deck. They live on the third story of an Edwardian building in the Lower Haight that was built in 1905. That it was built in 1905 means their building survived the 1906 earthquake and that gives the building bragging rights in my opinion.
One of the perks of living on the third floor is that the place comes with this wonderful birds-eye view. It’s pretty magical to step out onto their deck and look at a sea of treetops in every shade of green with bits of purple and white sprinkled throughout.
Then there’s that pine tree in the first photo that majestically towers over everything else. It’s so beautiful.
I love so many things about San Francisco including that even though it is a city with a capital C, nature is incorporated throughout. We have so many parks and green spaces everywhere that a view like this is only a deck away.
