One of our regular weekend activities is to get in the car and drive somewhere, nowhere in particular, but somewhere. This weekend I requested that we leave San Francisco and go somewhere sunnier. We ended up in San Anselmo – a little over 30 minutes away from San Francisco – and came across Robson-Harrington Park. It’s such a quaint looking park that we had to stop and explore.
Turns out that the park is part of the grounds of the landmark Robson-Harrington house that was bequeathed to the City of San Anselmo. It has belonged to the City of San Anselmo since 1968
A part of the park is split into about 30 plots that serve as a community garden. It was so nice to walk through the paths in the garden area and see people tending to them. We got to talk to one woman who told us about how well her cucumber crop is doing. It definitely felt like community was being fostered and nurtured in that garden.
