We Like Them!

I was given the opportunity to review an item from CSN Stores and although they have an enormous selection with over 200 stores, it was pretty easy for me to decide on an item because we happened to be in the market for glass storage containers. We want to eliminate plastic storage containers that leach chemicals into your food.

About a week ago, I received Kinetic Go Green  GlassLock containers.  As soon as I got them out of the box, I thought they were great. I got 3 square and 3 rectangular containers in assorted sizes. Being the  spoiled liberated woman that I am, my husband does most of the cooking and the kitchen is much more his domain than mine, so I left the containers on the counter for him to check out when he got home and then I forgot about them until I heard my husband say, “Wow, these are nice!”

Why are they nice?

  • Tempered glass construction
  • Silicone-sealed lids create air and liquid-tight seal
  • Microwave, dishwasher, and freezer safe
  • Eco-friendly non-toxic materials

I asked my husband if there was anything he didn’t like about them and he said, “Nope, they’re great.” Then he asked me if they were oven safe. They are not. He then said, “They are almost perfect. If they were oven safe they would be perfect.”  So there you have it; they are almost perfect, but perfect enough for us to be thrilled with them.

I received the above pictured Kinetic GO Green Glass containers in exchange for this review. There was no monetary compensation. The opinions are my husband’s and mine. If I didn’t like them, I would tell you. For full disclosure policy click HERE.

If there is something that you already need and want, it is totally worth it. They were very easy to deal with and I'm totally stoked with the product I got. You could do the review as a 160. Ha!

Maybe I will have to come up with a Mami in Miami drink inspired by you! I'll have to do lots of drinking research.

that a good deal – get some useful stuff in exchange for a review.

Did you deal directly with the online store or the glass container company or some company in between?

Speaking of deals – I'll exchange this comment for one from the famed umami over on my post.

Oh, almost forgot we have some glass container that are much better in many ways that plastic. But I can't direct my wife to this post because your husband cooking would only give her more ammo in our ongoing battle. I'll heat stuff up and do very simple dishes that involve boiling but I'm a non-recipe guy.

Bless you heart, you have a husband who cooks. Maybe he would be willing to give cooking lessons to some of our husbands? No? Maybe online lessons? Actually I am better off keeping my hubby out of the kitchen because he tries to cook, sometimes it it a good thing, but he leaves a huge mess to clean up after and for some reason he doesn't see the mess at all. Does your husband cook AND clean up after himself. If you say yes, I am moving in with you.

I have both plastic and glass storage containers and LOVE the glass ones and am always replacing the plastic ones. HATE them, but keep buying more 'cause they're cheaper. My wife is also spoiled, er, uh, liberated. I love to cook.

I'm *this* closing to switching everything over to glass. The only thing stopping me is the wee ones' propensity for dropping things. I'm really not up for cleaning broken glass AND mess. Just mess is plenty for me.

Slick. I like glass containers although as devil's advocate I have to note that they are a bit harder to stack than plastic ones becuase you can't just shove them into the cupboard any old which way.

Great. Just great. All this time I thought I merely had a cold that wouldn't go away, and now I find out I have plastic container poisoning.

I better get some of those glass containers, but oven-safe would be nice because I'll forget and put the glass in there by stupidity.

As well as oven proof, it'd be nice if they were microwaveable. (I suspect that the silicon seal is a microwave kiss of death.)

You can microwave them, but not with the lid on. We don't microwave things with the lid on anyway so it's fine.

I have to say that the lids are part of what I like so much. We have glass containers from Crate and Barrel that are nice, but they leak. These do not leak and when they are sealed, there is no doubt.

That's so funny. CSN just contacted me about doing a giveaway or a review. I'd never heard of them before and it was the first time that anyone ever contacted me about something like that. I wasn't sure what to do, but knowing you have worked with them makes me feel good! Do you like doing reviews and giveaways? I'm a little nervous to get into it. Mostly cuz I've never done it before…

I only say yes to review and giveaways of stuff I'm really interested in. I've only done a couple so far and the experience has been good. CSN was very easy to deal with and they have lots to choose from. I don't like doing giveaways unless it's something that I've tried because I don't want it to be junk.
