This Wednesday Wishes post is coming so late that it should almost be a Thursday Thoughts post instead, but I’ve been busy tending to the birthday festivities of my youngest and I know the Universe never closes so Imma make some Wednesday Wishes for myself and others regardless of the hour.
For myself…
- My “baby” turned 5 today. 5! How did that happen so quickly? She is such a blessing in my life. I wish joy and health for her. When I was pregnant with her I was told that she might not have any kidneys and I was given the option to terminate the pregnancy. I remember how awful it felt to have her spoken about in such “cold” medical probabilities when I was already in love with her. Then she was born and has been my one-kidney wonder ever since. This year she will get an ultrasound before starting kindergarten to make sure that the cysts that are where her second kidney should be have not grown and have instead shrunk. If they have grown, she will need an operation. My wish is that they have continued to shrink they way they have since she was born and that we never have to worry about them again. I also wish that the one kidney she does have serves her wonderfully for her entire life.

For others…
- There is a beautiful little girl that is in kindergarten at my eldest daughter’s school. She has had some serious health issues in her life, the kind that no parent would ever wish on anyone’s child and she’s a champ and she’s rallied and you wouldn’t know by looking at her that anything has ever been wrong with her health-wise because she looks strong, happy and resilient. Well, presently her mother (who, by the way, is a warrior in the best sense of the word) is worried about her because she’s literally only taken “a few bites of food since last Thursday.” Universe, can you help this little girl and her mama out, please? May there pretty please be nothing wrong with the child’s health and may she regain her appetite soon so that her worried mama can have some peace?
That’s it for me this week. What are you wishing for.
