Ever wondered what you could do with chalkboard paint, other than paint a chalkboard of course? I have. I’ve been wanting to have an excuse to use chalkboard paint for awhile and the opportunity finally arose.
I was getting ready to throw a party and I thought it would be cute to decorate with glass milk jugs and milk cartons painted with chalkboard paint. Here’s what I came up with…
I took an empty thoroughly cleaned milk jug and painted it with black chalkboard paint. I did about 3 coats waiting about an hour between coats before applying the next coat.
What would you use a chalkboard milk jug for?
Well, it makes for a cool flower vase and you can draw or write whatever you like on it for different occasions.
I also, took a thoroughly cleaned out milk carton and painted it using the same method as above.
What would you use a chalkboard milk carton for?
If you secure the top with a binder clip, the carton can be used as a party favor container for guests to take home with them (with chalk inside as one of their favors) and you can personalize it anyway you want.
Have you ever used chalkboard paint?

I never would have thought to use chalkboard paint on glass! Very creative. I actually posted about how I used chalkboard paint today- I used to to paint some wooden conversation bubbles which became part of a father’s day photo shoot and present.

I like that last picture. But your trademark bag pic is not really on the cartoon right? Well I guess you could create a sticker with it but then you would be posting about the stickers. Anyway great stuff as long as you clean up after yourself.
But hey I’ve seen this blogger and she probably has a Led Zeppelin song in her head. Thanks for the exchange over at my blog – you are witty.

The picture is actually on the carton. I have bumper stickers and I cut my bloggy image out of the bumper sticker and stuck it to the carton. If you would like a bumper sticker or a bumper magnet send me an email with your address and I’ll mail it to you within a year (that’s about as often as I get to the post office).

Are you saving the bumper stickers for your next election? I don’t use bumper stickers but sometimes the family probably wants to slap one across my mouth. What was the cost per sticker?
unknownmami says
I did an advertising trade. So I don’t know the exact per sticker cost.

You are THE FUNNIEST blogger that I have had the privilege to know. I love the milk carton, but we’d never be able to find you LOL! Incidentally, we have a can of blackboard paint in the garage which we are going to use in the twins’ room. One of them is an artist and we thought it would be awesome for her. We also have wood which we are going to use to frame it. Coolio!

Thank you! My favorite compliment is when someone tells me they think I’m funny. You made my day.

Really cute ideas. Where did you get the glass milk jug?
unknownmami says
We buy Straus milk, which comes in glass jugs at our local store.

Ha ha… yes, we’ve used chalkboard paint to paint the top of a wooden chest. There we would mark “good” points for my oldest, or having him draw a small picture every time he did something exceptionally good or went above and beyond. Once he accumulated 10 drawings, he would get a prize from inside the prize chest. Worked like a charm!
