Why is Blogging Important?

Why has blogging become important to me? Why is it important to so many people?

Oral tradition was once a very important method of transmitting history and culture without the written word. The times we live in are different. There is a lack of oral tradition stories and we are inundated with written history, but many times that history does not include or speak for all of us.

Blogging can be a liberating force because it allows everyday people like you and me to share our stories and our stories are important even in their ordinariness.

The following video is of Mena Trott giving a talk on TED. She discusses blogging; what it is; what it means; why it’s important. It’s a little on the long side (over 16) minutes, but if you have the time I highly recommend it. I was touched by it and I think you might be too.

Happy Blogging! Keep sharing.
