You Don’t Have to Be a Disney Fanatic to Love Disneyland (Sundays In My City)

A little flashback from last week: Being dorky at #Disneyland with my ladies @lorrainecladish and @majoseovalle.#WeAllGrow

As the mother of a 5 year old and a 7 year old, I did the UNTHINKABLE: I went to Disneyland without my children! What?! Before you judge me too harshly, it all came about because I went to the #WeAllGrow Summit in Long Beach , CA and one of the wonderful parts of this conference for Latinas in the digital space is that you can sign up for field trips and I happened to get a spot on the Disneyland field trip.

What was I supposed to do, not go? Not only did I go, I had a blast and here’s the thing: I am not a Disney fanatic. Nope, not at all. I watch the movies because my kids want to, but I’m a critic when I feel like criticism is needed, I’d like to see changes, I don’t buy the whole Disney mystique without questioning it, BUT when it comes to Disneyland I am a fan. I LOVE DISNEYLAND. I always have and I always will.

I grew up in southern California and trips to Disneyland were a part of my childhood. It’s pretty impossible to have a bad time at Disneyland so all of my memories of being there are wonderful. Going back as an adult I found that the child in me still loves her some Disneyland.

So if you are a person who isn’t particularly in love with all things Disney, I want you to know that it is possible that you may still LOVE Disneyland because that’s the kind of person that I am.

We have never been huge Disney people but I do enjoy going from time to time and the most fun I have had has been going with my adult children or going alone several times! It is always a fun day at Disney parks.

Good for you! It does look like you had a great time. I would go to Disneyland with kids, without kids, in a group or all by myself in a heartbeat! I grew up five miles from Disneyland although through my teen years it would be more accurate to say I grew up in Disneyland, I think I was there more than I was at my own home….lol

You’d really have to go out of your way to try and have a bad time.
