A** Cheeks

Brainella the Librarian did a post that reminded me of a little story I would like to share with you; it happened during pregnancy.

Let me preface by saying that my pregnancy was very difficult. I felt like I was losing my mind. The hormones did not agree with me. My husband was amazing the entire time and he should be given awards for the love and support he gave, but mostly it was a thankless job.

One night he went out, which he rarely did during my pregnancy, he came back with a slice of pizza for me. When he offered it to me, I asked if he would warm it up. Gracious husband that he is, of course he did. Paranoid hormonal pregnant woman that I was, I said, “Did you wash your hands before handling the pizza? I don’t want to get sick.”

He replied, “Don’t worry, I’m going to serve it to you with my ass cheeks not my hands.”

Well, I lost it. Full blown hysterics. Crying, fighting, you name it. He tried to explain to me that he was joking. I told him that if it was funny, I would have laughed.

My hormones did not see the humor until I started telling other people and every single one of them would just crack up. They were hysterical too, but in a good way.

Now, of course I find the whole thing hilarious and can’t believe I was such a big baby.

I would comment if I wasn’t laughing so hard! Thank god he kept his
sense of humor amidst the hormones. I was equally cranky and miserable
and I think my husband was pretty scared most of the time.

This is hysterical, but sad, but really funny. I had hormone issues
too, so I can sympathize. I once lost it (completely and out of
control) because the socks weren’t dry. (I was doing laundry – at my
mom’s) And yes, they still make fun of me for that and it’s been 19
years. : )Popping in from SITS to say hello.

That is the funniest thing I have ever heard. Did you become more germ
concious when you were pregnant? Because I would never ask anyone about
washing their hands before they handed me pizza. I just am accustomed to
being around germs all the time. Growing up around a farm will do that
    to you.

Dropped by from SITS and thought this was too funny! My sister was the
same way when she was pregnant with my nephew, she was tired a lot and
when her husband asked her why she was staying so tired even though she
was sleeping all day she started crying and told him that she had done
more work in her sleep than he has done all week. Then she said “I’m
    making a freaking human here”

Pregnancy hormones make us react to things in ways we never would have
otherwise. I can remember crying everytime the Gap commercial with
Luscious Jackson came on. A few weeks ago they were on the radio and
Hubs asked if I needed a tissue. I had no idea what he was talking about
until he gave me the gentle reminder that I was pretty crazy for a bit!
