Bringing Autumn Indoors

It’s beginning to look a lot like autumn…well, not really. I live in California where the weather is mild, some leaves change colors, but not all. Still that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy the gorgeous colors associated with fall. Lucky for me bringing a bit of the season into my home is easy.

DIY-Fall-Decorations

I headed to my local Lowe’s and filled my cart with pumpkins, gourds, and mums! As soon as I got home, I arranged them on top of a shelf in our living room. Could not have been easier.

Autumn Decor

I loved the way the arrangement looked on the shelf, but the wall behind it looked really plain so I pulled out a hammer, made a hole in the back of some of the mini-pumpkins, and hung them on the wall with nails.

Pumpkin Arrangement

I think they look adorable. Sort of like pumpkin polka dots.

The pumpkins hanging on the wall is a very cute idea.  Your decorating ideas are perfect! My husband would have a coronary knowing I put holes in the wall.  I love mums. They are one of my favorite flowers.

I am already prepared to spackle the holes when I’m done.

new holes or did you have pictures hanging there before?  Since the pumpkins are small you probably could of used velco strips but sometimes the glue backing messes up the paint.

I has a picture there before, when I retire the pumpkins the picture will go back up. I’m a bit cavalier when it comes to putting nails on the wall. Luckily, my landlord helps me with the patchwork.

that’s good – but you know what they say – when you have a hammer everything looks like a nail.

Look at you! A fabulous design queen. I LIKE it! It is very decorative and fall festive. 🙂 They looked like pinwheels to me. So cute.
