The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has come out with its annual booster seat evaluations and I am thrilled (although not surprised) to tell you that all Britax Harness-2-Booster seats made the “Best Bet” category, that’s three seats: Britax Frontier 90, Britax Pinnacle 90 and Britax Pioneer 70.
What does “Best Bet” mean? According to IIHS, “A BEST BET booster correctly positions belts on a typical 4-to-8-year-old child in almost any car, minivan or SUV.” Awesome! I encourage you to check out the full booster seat safety list put out by IIHS, to see how your booster seat ranks especially since there are three seats in particular that are “Not Recommended” and neither I nor you want your child in a seat like that.
I’ve been working as an ambassador for Britax for a couple of years now and when I was invited to partner with them, I was honored and said yes for totally selfish reasons, because selfishly I want my children to have the best of the best when it come to car seats. If it were up to me, my children would ride in Britax car seats until they are 18 years old, but Britax isn’t really marketing car seats for overprotective moms and their teens.
I’m a great advocate for Britax car seats because I will tell anyone who has a child in car seat age range that they should invest in Britax because I KNOW the amount of effort, care and engineering that goes into each and every one of their seats. I’ve visited their headquarters twice, I’ve seen the research, I’ve watched the seats get put together, I’ve witnessed the crash tests and I’ve read the letters from grateful parents whose children are alive because they were protected during an accident by Britax car seats (these letters will bring you to tears). I’m glad that IIHS puts out a yearly list to make it easier for parents to choose the right and best seats for their beloved children. I’m proud of Britax for being a pioneer in safety and for making the “Best Bet” category, not once, not twice, but thrice.
