Celebrating National Pi Day with Pie #MCPiDay #spon

Thank you to Marie Callender’s for sponsoring this post. Click here get $1.50 off a Marie Callender’s frozen pie at any national retailer, link good through Mar. 21!

March 14, 2013 is National Pi day. You know pi, that wonky go on forever number that is used to calculate the circumference of a circle.

National_Pi_Day

Surely, I am not the only one that notices that pi is homonymous with pie. It seems only fitting that National Pi Day be celebrated with pie. Am I right or am I right? Yup, I’m right.

Ever since I was a child Marie Callender’s has been one of my favorite purveyors of pies. My mother used to take me to Marie Callender’s restaurants and I’d enjoy my fill of both savory and sweet pies. I no longer live near a Marie Callender’s restaurant, but I can find those satisfying pies of my youth in the frozen section of many of my local stores and so can you.

I love dessert as much as the next person, but my very favorite Marie Callender’s pie is a classic chicken pot pie. It just doesn’t get more satisfying than that and although I am no math wiz, I do know that…

Hungry me + Marie Callender’s chicken pot Pie = Delicious Satisfaction

What’s your favorite kind of pie? Do you like pot pies as much as I do or are you more into dessert pies?

I wish you a very happy Pi Day and I remind you that you can have your pi and eat your pie too.

Also, feel free to:

  • Rate and review any Marie Callender’s products.
  • Check out Marie Callender’s blog for party ideas, how-to’s and more.
  • Invite me over for pie.

One more question before you go: Do you eat pie with a fork or spoon?

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective, and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

I love Pi (used for both the circumference and area of a circle!) and pie (pot or otherwise!). Here it’s called vlaai (the dessert type, not the the pot version) and is what you traditionally have instead of cake for a birthday or going away or, well, any gathering really. If I had some pie (pot or otherwise) I’d eat it right now!

I’ve been feeling under the weather and I gobbled up my pot pie and felt comforted.

Pi is a good transcendental number and it’s not irrational to celebrate it. I enjoy fruit pies the best. I nice pot pie is good too. We had a Marie Callendar restaurant nearby once but it’s gone.
