Chef Aarón Sánchez Cookbook #Giveaway

“Everything’s better in a tortilla.”
– Zarela Martinez (mother of Chef Aarón Sánchez)

Ain’t that the truth? Wise words from a wise woman who has obviously inspired her son.

Chef Aarón Sánchez, star of Food Network’s “Chopped” and “Heat Seekers,” is teaming up with Sierra Mist Natural to launch “Comer Juntos: Una Tradición Natural,” a program that encourages family bonding around the dinner table while enjoying delicious Latin-inspired food and drinks.

Sierra-Mist-NaturalSierra Mist Natural is made with real sugar and nothing artificial.

“’Comer Juntos’ means ‘Eating Together’ in English, and I’m excited about showing parents that there’s real joy in instilling the practice of a family meal, not only on special occasions but any night of the week. Some of my favorite memories bring me back to cooking in the kitchen with my mom, it inspired me to become a chef and that’s a testament to the power of food and family.”
-Chef Aarón Sánchez

The “Comer Juntos” program will include 10 recipes by Chef Aarón Sánchez, which include Sierra Mist Natural as an ingredient. The recipes are delicious, flavorful, and simple enough to free up time to be spent with family and friends instead of in the kitchen. That’s my kind of cooking.

I was raised by a single working mother and no matter how tired she was when she came home, she always prepared a delicious meal that my brother and I looked forward to. She is the kind of phenomenal cook that can whip something together in no time and it will taste amazing. We always ate at the table, talked, and connected. Some days it was the only time we really got to spend together as a family. Now that I am a mother I want my family to create wonderful memories around the dinner table as well, but I don’t have much time to spend in the kitchen.

Starting April 9th, “Comer Juntos” goes live on Facebook with step-by-step videos  in both English in Spanish. These recipes are great if you want to cook delicious meals without spending tons of time actually cooking. Check out this video for Slow Cooked Chipotle Chicken with Sierra Mist Natural which adds a hint of citrus that works perfectly with the smoky heat of chipotle.

If you are like me, you could always use a little inspiration in the kitchen; that’s why I am excited to be able to giveaway 1 copy of the cookbook:

Simple Food, Big Flavor: Unforgettable Mexican-Inspired Recipes from My Kitchen to Yours by Aarón Sánchez

Simple-Food-Big-Flavor

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Disclosure: I was compensated for this post by PepsiCo and received a copy of the aforementioned cookbook. All statements and opinions are my own.

My memories of living in Guadalajara are largely centered on the great food. Campesino food, street food, fancy food: all good stuff. Honduran food is not well known for good reason. It’s hard to beat Mexican cuisine.
