Chicharrones de Queso (Cheese Crisps) Recipe & Sponsored Video

Cheese, glorious cheese! I am a big fan of cheese. One of the ways that I particularly enjoy it is baked until crispy. My husband and I started making Chicharrones de Queso or Cheese Crisps before we even knew they had a name or that other people were making them too. It just goes to show that you can’t keep a good idea from spreading.

If you are a fan of cheese this crispy, cracklin’ goodness is irresistible.

Here’s how I make it…

You will need:

  • Shredded cheese of your choice.
  • A non-stick cookie sheet (or you can use parchment paper on a cookie sheet if you don’t have a non stick one).

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Spread the cheese loosely over the cookie sheet. You can either make one large circle or a few smaller circles.

  • Place in the oven and bake until the edges start looking crispy.
  • Remove from oven and carefully drain excess oil.
  • You can either serve them in the shape they come out or carefully roll them while still hot using a spatula to loosen them from the cookie sheet and a drinking glass to provide the shape.

Whether you make them in a small size…

or a large size…

they are delicious!

You may have noticed that I used Tillamook Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese. We are big fans of Tillamook in our house. Tillamook makes delicious cheeses, the Extra Sharp Cheddar being one of our favorites. We appreciate Tillamook for the flavor, the all natural ingredients, and for being farmer owned. Their pride is apparent. See for yourself…

Costco does have a great deal on Tillamook, don’t they?

Wow these look really good. I love me some cheese. As a kid I even wrote a poem about how much I love cheese. I remember taking slices of cheddar, putting them on a plate and melting them in the microwave and eating it with a toothpick. I am going to try this recipe!

I didn’t even think about them being low carb, but they definitely are. They are super good with Parmesan too.

I don’t know, I’ve never tried making it in the microwave. You’ll have to experiment and let me know.

Yummm!!  I am going to start featuring more recipes for “Zen Meals”.  Any suggestions on how to get sponsors?  Love Tillamook cheese on my burgers…also purchased like mommy lisa at Costco.

I would approach companies you are interested in working with and ask them if they have blogger programs.

Cheese!  Cheese!  Cheese!  Love it.  Sometimes we go to Loteria Grill in Studio City and they serve this.  It’s so good.  I’ll have to try it at home.

Soooo glad I saw this post. I am a huge cheese fan. And a Tillamook fan as well. And by golly, extra sharp cheddar is one of my favorite cheeses.

    I. Am. Going. To. Make. These.

I love them. A little too much. Here’s a suggestion: if you like salads you can crumble them on your salad, they add a yummy crunch.

Thanks for the idea and I do eat lots of salads. This may be a new addiction for me.
