Fragmented Fridays

Pity me, I’m tired.

I called my father-in-spirit this morning to catch up and my voice sounded all scratchy. The following conversation ensued…

Father-in-Spirit: Are you okay?

Unknown Mami: Yeah, I’m just tired.

FIS: Welcome to my world.

UM: You have no idea. Go find a three-year-old and a one-year-old to take care of, but make sure you start taking care of them as newborns.

FIS: hahaha…

UM: Then you’ll be calling me and saying, “Man I miss my old tired. I still had so much energy.”

FIS: That tired, huh?

UM: You have no idea.

You see my father-in-spirit has never had littles to take care of. My brother was 10 when FIS started living with him and I was 18, living on my own, and fully potty trained…it’s just different.

The point is I’m tired.

And now your Friday Fortune Cookie
(don’t forget to add “in bed” at the end, if you are so inclined):

Tired is as tired does.

First one on the FF trail?  –  if you happen to have the energy to click over, I suggested something for you in my FF post.
At least you are tired because of a good thing – care of your girls.  You might be still jet-lagged too.  Dr. visit is done – take two aspirins and read my blog in the morning.

“I miss my old tired. I still had so much energy.” YES! This is exactly what parenthood  is like. You just don’t know it until you experience it.

Right?! And you just can’t explain it to someone who hasn’t lived it.

Then I guess today is not the day you want me to tell you how tired I get/got trying to keep up with the antics of teenage and then young adult offspring???

OK – – – I’ll wait and let you find out for yourself.

    😉

Hang in there, we’re all in this together.  (Thank you Red Green for that wonderful line!)

Yes it’s a big difference.  People without little ones do not know tired at all!

Okay maybe those types of days you’d like to trade in. My best advise is Orajel, popsicles and crushed ice. If that doesn’t work. Use a good old fashioned wives tales and rub whiskey on the gums. Good luck!!

I’m exhausted just reading this post, hang in there. Try to imagine a day where your little girls will help you cook and clean.

Hugs!  I know just how tired you are… and I think we need to come up with a mom bloggers nap conference… a chance to get away, do some learning and take 3 hour afternoon siestas…

Brilliant! I am not kidding you that I would be all over that conference. Maybe Serta or Sleep Train would sponsor me.

I know that tired and you are right. There is NOTHING like that tired. And I have a chronic illness! It’s also amazing how quickly the relief from a break wears off. Sending you hugs.

I imagine you are tired. I am, too. And I have a non-barring female. However, I am fairly sure I am hosting a few creatures in my stomach that have latched along for a ride.

I understand tired!  I am always tired but not because of kids anymore – it’s because I’m constantly up in the middle of the night (maybe menopause).  But the most amazing thing happened yesterday!  I was totally awake and feeling “normal”!!  Anyway, take a break, if you can.  Thinking of  you!
