Usually, I do not share videos on this blog because I know sometimes people aren’t interested in watching them, but today I feel compelled to share this Ted Talk by Ric Elias because it is less than 6 minutes long and wonderful.
Ric Elias was on Flight 1549, which crash-landed in the Hudson River in 2009. He thought he was going to die and in the moments before crashing he learned three valuable lessons.
The video was sent to me by my husband because we are undergoing a shift in perception and this it really speaks to what we are trying to embrace. It’s stuff we all know deep down inside, but seem to forget. Hopefully, we can take these lessons to heart without ever having to go through what Ric Elias went through.
If you’re a parent, this video will ask you to answer whether you are being the best parent that you can be.
Do yourself a favor, watch this video…

the TED series of videos are the best. I had not seen this one and thank you for sharing.
Being the best parent can change the world one kid at a time. Looking back I could have done better but the good things and shared moments are the best moments. Oh the other part of this that made me go back and replay was eliminate negative energy and not having a fight with his wife in TWO YEARS – wow I lucky sometimes to go 2 weeks. thanks

It’s nice that he thought all of those coherent thoughts. I mean, really, I’m not being sarcastic either.
I’m just thinking I would have shit myself and died.

That was excellent! I posted the link on my facebook page. It wouldn’t let me post the video…it was too long. Thanks for sharing. I’m hoping my adult sons will watch it.

Like so many others who commented before me, I AM SO GLAD I TOOK THE TIME TO WATCH THIS!
Although he imparted so many tools of wisdom, the thing that struck me most was when he said that he was given the gift of seeing into the future and coming back to do things differently.
WOW…..I hope that everyone takes the time to watch this video.

I am so glad you watched it Matty. I loved it and was really touched by it, but wasn’t sure that others would appreciate it in the same way.
Thank you so much for tweeting it too.

Thank you for sharing this. It’s unfortunate that drastic measures are often needed for us to examine our lives and make some changes. I’m constantly trying to figure out how I could improve my behavior. I often fall short, but I keep trying.

Just want to give you a bit of feedback – I passed this video clip over to my sisters who don’t always bother to look at my suggestions. One sister liked it and gave me some positive feedback – so thanks again.

yeah… he’s right. It’s amazing how being right doesn’t necessarily make one happy.

Oh Mami. I was reading through all your posts, playing catch up like I usually do. Only this time, I wasn’t leaving comments because I am in a funk and who needs funky comments anyway. Then I got to this post. Just what I needed to hear at this very moment.
I fly to Houston on Sunday and this is what I will be thinking about. And just in case, I love you. 🙂

I love you too! Have a safe trip.
