Everyday Make-up in 6 Easy Steps

The older I get, the less make-up I wear and it’s not because I’m too lazy to wear it or because I don’t like it. I love make-up. I use it to enhance my attributes, not to hide my perceived flaws. I can do everyday make-up in 6 easy steps. You could say that when it comes to make-up, I’m big into little, that’s why e.l.f. cosmetics (#eyeslipsface) are a favorite. I love them because they are affordable, come in a size that I can actually use before they’ve outlasted their shelf-life, and they are sold at Target. Oh how I love Target.

On a recent trip to Target I stocked up on e.l.f. cosmetics. Elf Cosmetics at Target

With many of their products costing $1.00-$3.00, it was hard not to go a little nutty. I ended up buying 9 items total and only spent $23.82! Check out my full e.l.f. shopping spree at Target photo album.

As soon as I got home, I unwrapped all my goodies and got all up close and personal with them.

You’re probably thinking, for someone who doesn’t wear much make-up what do you do with all that stuff? Why don’t I show you my everyday make-up routine. I will speak in the third person in case you’d like to follow my routine as well. Remember this routine works no matter what products you use, so feel free to mix and match or substitute according to your needs and preferences.

  • Start off with a clean, moisturized face.
  • Apply powdered mineral foundation with the e.l.f. Kabuki Face Brush to even out skin tone.Using-Kabuki-face-brush
  • Define brows to frame your lovely face. Don’t go overboard, but using the e.l.f. Eyebrow Kit will help emphasize your brows and help you look put together.e.l
  • Mascara is a must. Mineral Infused Mascara by e.l.f. will make your eyes pop.
  • Don’t forget blush and bronzer. Color on your cheeks makes you look awake even when you’re half asleep. Apply e.l.f. Contouring Blush & Bronzer to add a subtle flush to the apples of your cheeks and to define areas like your cheekbones or jawline.elf contouring blush and bronzer
  • Finally, but oh so importantly apply color to your precious pout. For “everyday” use, sheer colors like the ones offered by e.l.f. Lucious Liquid Lipstick or Hypershine Gloss are perfect.

Okay, I lied there are actually 7 steps to everyday make-up. The last secret step is to believe that the only thing you truly need to look and feel beautiful is a smile.

Never rely on make-up for your beauty, just use it to enhance it! Think of your beautiful face as a palate to show off the lucky make-up that you choose to wear.

Gorgeous! I’m not a big makeup wearer…just eye liner but when I finally find a job I usually wear a little more…good to know about this brand and I like the price point!

I’m very impressed by the prices. I don’t wear much makeup, but at that price point, I might do it more often.

You are looking gorgeous! (but only a little bit of that is the makeup, you know)

Basically, all I wear is foundation and mascara. However, that may come to an end since Max Factor went out of business. I’m making what I have last for as long as possible because I totally dread foundation shopping. They’re so expensive and if you don’t like it, you’ve wasted 9 or 11 or 15 bucks on a small bottle of something you’re never going to use. That is so annoying. You are gorgeous!!

That’s how I feel about most make-up. The cost is prohibitive in terms of experimenting. Thank you for the compliment.

🙂 I love your looks – and I am sure you look very very good without the makeup. I don’t wear it – although, I must say I’ve been tempted. Ah, I fantasize about getting a photograph with full makeup on. Then again….I wonder. 😀 When I see the makeup counter at the mall, it is always tempting to check a couple of things out. Luckily for me, they’re far too expensive and I happily just stock up on moisturizer and “Kaajal” (Kohl to line the eyes, which comes in the form of a lipstick-tube type thingy or pencil). Still, I loved this post!

It’s gotta be easy or I won’t do it. I’m loving the sheer lipstick I got from e.l.f.; it’s becoming my new favorite.

I have been ordering ELF online for years now. I love their eye brow kit, use it all the time. They have a very large selection online compared to the stores. Fun post!

I wish they carried more at Target. I’m going to go online so I can get more of their mineral line. So affordable.
