Feelin’ a Little Proud (Fragmented Fridays)

My new year is off to a good start and just when I was worrying that I may have lost that bloggin’ feeling, I get a pat on the back from Latina magazine. Say what?!
Latina bloggers you must know in 2014Yup, they featured a little picture of me in their February 2014 issue and online they included me as one of 37 Latina bloggers you must know in 2014! Now, Latina has a special place in my heart. I remember when it first came out, I bought the first issue, I was one of their first subscribers. I was their target audience and I was so very excited that a magazine with me in mind was out there. It’s gratifying to see their success and surprising to find myself noticed by them a couple of decades later.

There was no Twitter when Latina started, there was no me blogging either, so color me tickled to get this tweet…

The internet is a fickle beast. You can spend hours pouring your heart out onto the screen, hit publish and nada, not a peep, no one seems to notice. Other times you just haphazardly throw something online and clickity, click, click, click, everyone wants to take a look. After a few years of blogging, you start feeling like an internet dinosaur and you look around at all the new websites and wonder if anyone is reading or taking notice of Blogosoraus You. I mean you know someone is looking because your stats tell you so, but does anyone really care that you have useless psychic powers or can turn an empty roll of toilet paper into a snowflake? Maybe all the hits are from people searching for “Latina mami porn” or some such nonsense.

Anyway, it’s nice to get a pat on the back once in a while. Shoot, I’ll take a pat on the ass, on occasion as well (you should ask first, though). PEACE!

    You (and family) should feel proud of being selecting by the magazine. The only time I was ever mentioned in a magazine was years (eons) ago when MacWorld included a tip I had sent in. It only listed my name and of course my tip.
    an internet dinosaur – good one! So that makes our old posts dinosaur bones.
