Fragmented Fridays

My mother is visiting and as usual she came bearing gifts. You never know with my mother, sometimes she gets the perfect gift and other times her gifts leave you thinking WTF?!

Usually, I’m the one that ends up with the WTF gift while everyone else gets an awesome gift. Not this time. This time I got this watch:

And I love it! I have a thing for white enamel watches. She did however bring what I consider to be an inappropriate gift for Put Pie.

I mean call me weird, but I just don’t think that 3-year-olds should wear stripper shoes.

blankOh and she didn’t just bring her one pair of stripper shoes, she brought her four pairs. Since Put Pie was really not into them, I decided to laugh it off, but if my mother shows up with a pole next time, I’m definitely putting my foot down.

And now your Friday Fortune Cookie
(don’t forget to add “in bed” at the end, if you are so inclined):

    Nice watch!!! I like.

I don’t think they are really stripper shoes, my daughter’s had dress up shoes like that, and at that age they just love to totter around on heels a bit like a Princess that’s all. 🙂 That I don’t get, but I think it’s pretty harmless.

It’s funny because my daughter hasn’t had much exposure to high heels so she just found them very confusing.

Love the watch.  Didn’t you have those shoes growing up?  I haven’t shopped for children recently but I know my daughter had some when she was very young. I never thought of them as stripper shoes, they were just dress up shoes.

No, I had to wear orthopedic shoes until I was 10. That might explain my bitterness. I even had to wear my orthopedic shoes for running during P.E.

I think the four pairs are in case she wants to have a stripper themed sleep-over party.

Stripper shoes, huh? Maybe you can call them clown shoes, or make-believe shoes. Your mama has a good heart, I am sure. Whether or not she intends for her daughter to have a career in a strip joint is debatable. I don’t know her like you do.

Gorgeous watch!! As for the stripper shoes…Katelyn had several pairs and a boa too…I’m happy to say at almost 18 she has been no where near a pole and wears mostly flats and has no rhythm!! Put Pie is safe!

If she keeps wearing them with those cute socks I think you are safe until she outgrows them…..then she’ll be wanting to borrow your watch.

But… but… but those are the most adorable little kiddie porn stripper shoes ever!!! If she brings a pole it should be pink and covered in little unicorns and glitter!

I love thy watch. Love mothers! ‘Xcept for the heels, the shoes seem cool! Heels are no-no for children. (And adults come to think of it, so spake the physician) 😀

LOL at the shoes!  She could use them for ‘dress ups’?
Certainly NOT for wearing out of the house!
I love the watch, glad your mother got something right!

Oh my gosh, the shoes!  Well, really they aren’t quite “pimp me out” high heels…but yea, the pole would be a bit much 😉

Hubby’s grandmother gave us the craziest gifts.  Hubby got an old fashioned shaving cup while in seminary, and he was sporting a full beard at the time 🙁  She once gave my daughter a fire truck and one of my boys a peeing baby doll.  It was the same christmas and we are pretty sure she got confused even though she was adamant about who they were for… we swapped them at home 😉

That is hilarious!  I used to wonder when people would give my daughter make up too.  Sort of goes with that stripper theme.

cool watch – what was she thinking with those shoes??? Not only are they stripper like but they are probably not good for the feet of a 3 year old, but then I’m just an old fuddy duddy lately 😉  They are definitely channeling the Lamas chick who favors those lucite heels..

Love the watch… and my niece has the same ‘dress up shoes’ the rule is that they are ‘house shoes only’ so the can’t be worn out anywhere… she loves to play dress up and get into her mother’s jewelry and put on her ‘princess clothes’ and put on the shoes… makes for a great photo opp… then again she also wanders around in her superhero cape just about as often 😛

My girls love their “fancy” shoes.  Although every time they walk through the kitchen they biff it, not great for slick surfaces.  LOL
