Sometimes I just don’t get what the big deal is about whatever happens to be popular. Take for example cake pops. Big deal!
Everyone goes on and on about them like they’re the best thing since sliced cake. They don’t sound all that great to me. I mean aren’t they just mushed up cake and frosting formed into a ball and dipped in a candy shell? I don’t even really like frosting and the candy shell just seems like overkill.
Seriously people, it’s just a sugar bomb!
Moving on…
Don’t you love getting packages in the mail? It’s so nice. I recently got an unassuming package and opened it to find this box:
It looks a little like a baby wipes box, but it’s too light to have baby wipes in it. What could it be?
Someone took care to wrap up the contents so they wouldn’t get damaged. Is it something breakable?
If I’m not mistaken those are cake pops or cake balls ‘cause they don’t have sticks on them or maybe they’re cake bites. Hmm…mmm…
Well, they are awfully pretty. I think this one is talking to me and it’s saying, “Bite me!”
Oh for the love of all things sweet! These things are THE BOMB! So friggin’ delicious! I swear they’re better than cake. Really, if you haven’t tried them…what are you waiting for?
Wondering who sent them to me? The lovely Mrs. 4444 from Half-Past Kissin’ Time. Yup, she’s a cake pop pusher and I’m hooked!
And now your Friday Fortune Cookie
(don’t forget to add “in bed” at the end, if you are so inclined):
Cake balls are meant to be enjoyed.
Hosted by Mrs. 4444
and yet another one bites the dust 😉
Those were beautiful treats!
I do love me some cake pops!
She packaged mine in an egg carton. Yummy!
Hahahahaha, she got you hooked!! My sister is huge on making these things. They do look good, I had forgotten that you won that contest. Yummers!
I didn’t win, she just sent them to be nice to me and get me hooked.
Oh that looks so yummy.. and purty.
Mmmm, delicious!! I don’t actually want to MAKE cake pops or balls or whatever they are…but if they showed up on my doorstep, I’d be in heaven.
They are too cute, almost too cute to eat…almost.
Never too cute to eat.
Wow, I might have to try them now. I admit that my opinion of cake pops (or cake… balls?) is the same as yours was before your conversion, but I haven’t actually tried one yet…
So now I totally want a cake pop…
Cute post. Glad you enjoyed them!
that is sweet and nice – you already knew that but I had to type something quickly before the drool dripped into the keyboard.
What a great surprise!!! Yummy!
Breathe, Laurie, breathe. This post was a real gotcha moment. I just knew Mrs. 4444 was going to be crushed by your review. Glad you saved the day.
They were ridiculously good.
A gift of cake pops (balls) would certainly make my day…..your pics did a great job of capturing their yumminess.
I am so tickled that you loved your surprise. I’m also very relieved to know that they arrived intact! Love the photos, too! Sorry there were only four…Did anyone else get to try one?heehee
so jealous! Both of the fact that you got a care package from Mrs. 4444 and that you get to eat chocolate… I’m so allergic but those look so yummmy!
Looks like a lucky girl got a very yummy-looking treat!
🙂

Haha you were brought over to the dark side!! I honestly don’t like frosting either I always end up eating the slice of cake on my plate upside down.
Oh they look SO good!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend.
I now feel the NEED for a cake pop!
