Fragmented Fridays

I’m not a friendly neighbor. It’s not that I’m mean, I’m just not friendly. I’ve lived in the same place for over 15 years and I hardly know any of my neighbors. Part of it is that I’m shy. Oh sure, most people that know me do not think I’m shy at all because I’m loud and once I get going, I can talk. Still, I’m shy. It is very, very hard for me to approach someone. My pulse races, I get a little shaky, and I can’t always seem to make eye contact.

Fortunately for me there are many people in this world that are much better at making friends. One of our neighbors invited our family over for dinner last night and it was wonderful. They were gracious and accommodating of our children, the food was yummy, the conversation was great, and I can really see establishing a friendship with them. Yay!

I was watching Sarah Kay talk on TED and she said, “I want you to take a moment and I want you to think of three things that you know are true. They can be about whatever you want…the only rule is don’t think to hard.” Here are 3 things I know are true:

  • The sun will rise tomorrow.
  • I will die.
  • I will always love.

What about you? What are 3 things you know are true? Leave me the answers in the comments and remember don’t think about it too hard.

And now your Friday Fortune Cookie (don’t forget to add “in bed” at the end, if you are so inclined):

“Welcome” is a powerful word.

    Three true things
1  Neighbors are good to know.  You never know when help will be needed by them or you.
2  Blogger is still currently unavailable
3  There will not be as many FF posts today.

Since your FF is up here’s a fragment from lisleman

    1) My children don’t comprehend the extent of my love for them.
    2) They will understand when they are parents.
    3) I will always have at least two pets in my life, until the end (of me or time).

Another fragment for Friday –  How does it go – you don’t miss your water until the well runs dry.  Now
that blogger has been down for a surprisingly long time I feel like I
need to monitor when it’s coming back.

If I was still on Blogger, I’m sure I would be obsessing about it. Even though I’m not on Blogger, it is still affecting me with a lot less traffic than usual.

I hope it all gets worked out soon and that everyone recovers their missing posts and comments.

I know that blogger was down and now I have at least one post missing.  My post I titled “The Answer” or something like that.  Where did it go?

I know that in just two weeks, my son’s spica cast will come off! I’m thrilled at the thought of getting him in a more mobile cast.  When will we be completely done with all this though?

I know that my love for Joey and the rest of my family can move mountains and I will fight to get what we all need.  What are we going to need next?

My missing post ended up being listed as a draft.  You might want to take a look in your drafts for it.  The comments were gone, but at least the post was still there ready to go.

Three things I know:1. My son is not perfect, but he is close.
    2. If I don’t start going to the gym again, my goal shorts (from last summer) will not fit by this summer either.
    3. I love the internet.

    1. It gets warm every year and it gets cold every year… iit’s warm now, and it will be cold again in some months.
    2. The world is fucking big. There are all kinds of people walking around just outside this window, most of whom I will never see again in life.
    3. I’m superhuman. Okay, scratch that last one… I’m only mostly sure about that. But if I’m not superhuman, I’m at least very awesome. Okay, I’m only mostly sure about that too… wait, can I start over?

Wow! These days people never invite the neighbors over, they must extraordinary keepers. I’m glad it worked out. My brother and sister in law live in a neighborhood like in the movies. Everyone’s friends and they have block parties.

    3 things.

    I’m always learning.
    I will never give up.
    I believe God is real.

That’s so nice you are making friends with a neighbor.  We don’t know our neighbors very well either.  I wish we did!

Okay, here’s 3 things I know are true:
    1.  God is amazing and awesome!
    2.  It seems something is always breaking lately, today it was our front door.
    3.  Blogger is finally working again–Yay, I missed it!

    Stopping by from FF.

We need to turn off our tv once in a while.
I can’t wait to sleep in tomorrow.

Yea! on the new friends thing. Sounds like a nice night 🙂

I am EXACTLY the same way when it comes to neighbors and friends in general.  I’m just not outgoing but I really am nice, and when people get to know me they usually really like me!
Hmm, 3 things I know: I will always love my kids, even when they drive me insane.
Home is where my family is.

     1. I’ll have to make coffee tomorrow as my hubby sleeps in!
    2. It’s going to keep raining all weekend and that sucks!
    3. I’m pissed at blogger for the big hiccup in blogging!

Have a wonderful weekend! I think it’s nice to know a few neighbors, I’ve had to ask for help and it’s nice to know someone near by!

I know most of my neighbors, but I either don’t want to “socialize” with them, or I don’t like them… In fact, I didn’t know my next door neighbor (and good friends of my husband and brother) was pregnant until she was almost 6 months!! I’m a bad neighbor…

    3 true things:
    1. I CAN do it, it’s just going to be work.
    2. I am very tired right now, but too excited about my new computer!
    3. Tomorrow is Saturday. Yay!

Things I know are true today:
    1. I love my husband.
    2. I still haven’t told my parents what I told my husband I was going to tell them.
    3. Unless scientists discover the secret to immortality, we will all die someday.

Gee, that third one sounded gloomy.

     I am shy too.

I don’t know why but the first three things I thought of that were true are slightly odd..

    1. I have a great love with my husband.
    2. I *am* a knitter.
    3. My soul is damaged but still perfect the way it is.  (even though this was honestly the third thing I thought, I don’t even know how you tell if a soul is damaged..)

You know, it might not be damaged at all… it might just be a little dusty… or maybe it just needs a little soul-polish…

We have new neighbours currently moving in over the road and I am fearful about the number of people involved – so far there have been 2 moving trucks, 3 different cars and a scooter involved.  I am thinking it will be a group house instead of a family.  Boo hiss, I was hoping for a family with kids say 7 and 9.  Wishful thinking!

I like to say howdy to neighbors; I just don’t want to hang out with them or be best friends. I would help anyone if the needed something and I know they would do the same for me. But we live weird hours, sometimes up at 3:30 or 4:00 and maybe a half hour nap after breakfast and we have so many things we each do that consume time and energy. Life is full and busy, just the way I like it.
