I was born as Unknown Mami on April 17, 2009 on a blog started on Blogger. Time passed, I decided I’d like different digs and moved to WordPress.org. I was still Unknown Mami. More time passed and I started going out, meeting people from online, and building relationships. No one who knew me wanted to call me Unknown and I only want my kids to call me Mami, so I started telling people that my name is actually Claudya Martinez.
I even came out of my paper bag and showed you all what I look like, but still I was writing as Unknown Mami. You will notice on the byline of this post that I am now writing as Claudya Martinez. Why? Because Google made me do it. Sort of, but pretty much totally true.
You see, I have started writing other places (thank you, Universe!) and I don’t write as Unknown Mami at most of these places. I write as Claudya Martinez. This writing at other places is a trend I intend on continuing. You all know that Google is pretty much the principal of the internet, right? Well, I want to be on the principal’s good side so that when people search for content that I’ve written, the principal will show them my records. In order to do that I have to set up authorship for my content via Google so that it knows where I’m writing and that it is actually me and not just some imposter with a paper bag on her head.
You will notice some small changes around here. My header now reads, Unknown Mami by Claudya Martinez, posts will be credited to me, and I put my actual face on the sidebar for all to see. For those of you who have been around since I was truly “Unknown”, thank you for all your support and please know that I will continue to be the same as before and I’m still unknown to so many.

Thank you. It’s funny how attached I was to the whole anonymity even when I wasn’t truly anonymous anymore. It felt like I was making such a big commitment when I changed the bylines to my actual name.

Appears you have left the brown paper bag witness protection program for good. Changes – what is coming next? CIA operative? Billionaire in hiding? Royalty? Superhero?
