Look Who’s Walking

I can’t believe I forgot to tell you that my baby, Luna Pie, is walking. She’s been doing it for close to 2 weeks now.

As it turns out, I missed her first steps even though I was in the same room as her when she took them. I was folding laundry and the TV was on. My hands were on the laundry, my eyes were on the TV, Luna Pie was standing next to me and all of a sudden she was in front of me taking the last of what had been probably 10 steps. I hit rewind in my peripheral memory vision and realized that her head had never left what is standing level for her. I was so bummed. I wasn’t even watching something good like, Let’s Make a Deal. I don’t even like watching TV during the day. I blame it on the laundry.

Now, for your viewing pleasure…

Her joy and perserverance remind me that you should focus on the journey, not the destination.

Awww that’s! so GREAT!!!! Don’t be so hard on yourself.  You were doing laundry 🙂 Today my second child wants to try for his drivers license. . .I don’t know what to wish for. I sooooo hate the thought of him driving! But, he has had the permit for a year and today is the day it expires. Maybe I can start a fight with him and make him stay home. 🙂 I am not going to do that…I’m just saying I could. 🙂

Anyway, I have been thinking of you ~ how did the surgery go??? You didn’t tell us. How did
Luna Pie do??? Better yet, How did you do???

Luna Pie was amazing! I was a wreck. I think they got enough pictures and hopefully she will never have to have one again.

Love all that hair!! Adorable… kids grow real fast, we have to catch up – and sometimes panting out of breath in the process LOL

Hey, this is wonderful.  I’ve not been around much in the last year so I’ve missed her progress.  Congrats both to Mami and Luna Pie…

Adorable! What a memorable moment! I remember when Vidur first walked – back in Jan 1999. So hilarious – he’d move around so rapidly on all fours and hold stuff and walk around – but was yet to actually get up and walk on his own. He went on and on with babytalk – and I told my Mom “Why doesn’t he just get up and walk!” and as if on cue, he slowly got up, arms outstretched, put one foot in front of the other, was about to fall, but managed not to – and then…he was walking, unstable at first…and then surer – as we all clapped. I, of course, burst out crying with joy.

You know, Unknown Mami – soon we’ll be reading about Luna Pie’s athletic feats at school – time flies so soon. Put Pie looked so sweet, too. God bless your girls and you!

That was so adorable. I’m really glad I didn’t miss it; I laughed out loud at all the squats she did and about the moment you turned off the camera to catch her! 🙂
