When I work outside the home for a certain amount of hours I get a lunch break; it’s mandatory. I try to impose the concept of a lunch break when I’m at home, but my 1-year-old and (almost) 4-year-old bosses just don’t seem to want to comply with break laws; they are adorable tyrants.
My lunch breaks end up feeling like mini-vacations and I really appreciate the time I get to be alone and roam as I please. Here’s a sample of one of my breaks.
This is what a clear blue sky looks like in San Francisco.
This is a close up of the same clear blue sky.
These are my feet firmly planted on the ground.
This is the time I took these pictures (late lunch).
I added this picture just for texture. I’m going to use it to layer on top of other pictures I take.
There was an actual lunch ingested during this break, but it was camera shy.
Do you get lunch breaks? If you do, I hope you take them and enjoy them.

Adorable tyrants indeed. I’m glad you were able to get out under the lovely sky. Cute shoes by the way.
I don’t have little ones but I have a job where it’s 99% interaction with people, so on my lunch breaks I usually hide, even from my friends.

I really treasure my alone time.

My life is a lunch break….it’s called retirement! lol
unknownmami says
Enjoy every single minute of it, you’ve earned it!

I worked today for the first time in about 5 weeks. I am supposedly “retired” but will work part time filling in for people. I didn’t get a lunch break, but I only had to work until 2 so I can’t complain too much.

Does coffee count?

I’m easy.

I have a 19 month old tyrant at home who monitors my lunch, or any break! I actually think it really bothers him to see me eating because as soon as I start to enjoy my food he inevitably needs me to hold/nurse/carry him or he just melts into an emotional mess. I keep telling myself that one day…

When I first saw the ‘sky’ photos I thought the photos had not come out! Until you said it was the sky… not a cloud!
Oh and I love your shoes and your watch! Drool!
LL COOL JOE says
Nice watch. I don’t take a lunch break but I do take breaks. 😉

I remember when my daughter was your girls age lunch consisted of the crust cut off from her sandwiches or the leftover scraps!

I had some lentil soup and salad today while reading this.

Yum!

I have similarly tyrant-like bosses so lunch breaks don’t happen much in my life. I do remember them in SF, though, and I almost always took them outside. Nothing like the SF sky.

Going outside during your lunch break is the perfect way to break up a day!

I like that closeup of the sky. when I’m home it’s generally munching all afternoon so it is one big lunch break

Love the shoes! Flats? Funny you posted about this as I had lunch at 4pm today. Really? And I was holding my 3 month old at the same time. Sigh. But I’m happy you had a great break! 🙂
unknownmami says
Yes, the shoes are flats.

are you sure that blue is not just the blue screen of death on your laptop? Ok I don’t remember if you are a Mac user. If so – never mind.

Sadly, most of the time (at work) I work through my lunches while blindly eating my food. This year, though, I’ll be rushing home to let puppies out! Loved the sky pics 🙂

Good for you. Beautiful sky and cute shoes!
