Mexican Food That Will Get You High

Medicated Mexican Food

Recreational use of marijuana is now legal in California. Yup, no prescription necessary. Pretty soon asking for a side of mota with your Mexican food or having your Mexican food prepared with mota will be no big thing.

That is if Yvanne Castañeda’s dream of opening a medicated Mexican food restaurant featuring “abuelita’s recipes with a Mary Jane twist” becomes a reality.

Dope, right?

Even if you aren’t a marijuana enthusiast, you’ve got to admit that pairing cannabis with Mexican food in California is a GENIUS business idea. Especially since Latinos are expected to make up 49 percent of California’s population by 2060 and also because last time I checked, pretty much EVERYONE loves good Mexican food.

Castañeda, founder of Señorita Sensei, started cooking with cannabis-infused oils and butter for medicinal purposes to treat her chronic pain. She’s created recipes for chilaquiles, elotes, tamales, tacos, enchiladas, pozoles and all kinds of good Mexican food that will get you high.

Just take a look at some of her Mexican food edibles, they’ll give you the munchies even if you aren’t high.

For now, it appears, you can only find Señorita Sensi edibles in San Diego. Don’t fret, though. I have a feeling that Castañeda will find a way to blaze a trail for Mexican food edibles throughout the state at some point.

You can check out Señorita Sensi on Facebook or Instagram.

Wow, I think my husband would enjoy those recipes. We recently visited a shop in Santa Ana. I didn’t go in but my husband was very impressed. It’s not my thing but he is a happy camper.
