El marido has been trying to get us over to Mercado Urbano to try their tortas for some time now and the other day we walked by while they were open and we were hungry so we finally got to try them out.
Mercado Urbano is connected to La Urbana restaurant as a sort of garage-style annex. I’ve been to La Urbana before and the food is what I would describe as interesting and innovative cantina-style cuisine, I loved everything I tried, but it’s a bit on the expensive side for me so not somewhere I would eat at regularly.
Mercado Urbano on the other hand is a more affordable, casual option where I can afford to eat regularly and I can even bring the kids with me. We’ve been to Mercado Urbano before for tacos on Taco Tuesdays, which I highly recommend because: CHEAP and so GOOD.
The tortas were good and filling at $8 a piece. As yummy as they were though, I think the next time I’d go back to the tacos whether it’s Taco Tuesdays or not because their tacos are too good for me to pass up.

It looks better than my baked banana, but if it tastes better, I would have to try.
