Mood for Thought (Fragmented Fridays)

I’m in a mood. Not a good one. Maybe not a bad one either, just an I’m friggin’ tired can I get some quiet up in here?! kinda mood. The answer is no, there is no quiet to be had with a 3-year-old and 5-year-old, so deal with it and love it because the mood will pass and the noise isn’t really all that bad, it’s just kids being kids.

I have been working as a full-time writer at MamásLatinas for a full year now. I had my yearly performance review and I kid you not I thought I was going to poop myself. I mean I know I’ve done my best and I’m proud of my work, but still there is always the chance that I am blind to my own incompetence. It was a great review with constructive criticism that left me feeling like they get me and value me. Even after a year of doing this, I sometimes have to pinch myself because I cannot believe that I get paid to write from home.

Speaking of my home, my girls have moved into a bigger room and I’ve moved my office work space into their old room. Can I tell you how beautiful it is to have a dedicated work space with a door that closes when you work from home? It is AH-MAZING!

Remember I told you I’m in a mood? Well, that mood made me want to do something nice for myself and I did. I bought myself these TOMS back suede platform wedges.

Hmmm, a new pair of shoes and a little bloggin’ can do a lot for a mood.

And now your Friday Fortune Cookie
(don’t forget to add “in bed” at the end, if you are so inclined):

Mind your mood.

shoes and women – a mystery to me. Actually candles and women or pillows and women are mysteries too. Wait a minute maybe the common part of this is women and their moods. Congrats on your year at writing and being paid. About your mood – I know nothing.

Well you may not know anything about my mood, but your comments always seem to be mood-lifters.

A new pair of shoes ALWAYS works for me too. A friend of mine just bought those Tom’s shoes. They are sooooo cute. Congrats on the great review.

yes new shoes are the answer all life problems! I think the hard part about working from home is you really don’t get a break and if you do your throwing in a load of wash or doing dishes etc…I hope your new shoes brighten your mood if not try alcohol!

I’m in the mood for a great pair of Toms too! Those are awesome looking, Mami. I might need to get a pair so we can be twins.
Have an easy weekend and high five on your fab review!

I bought them in chambray! Can’t wait to get my tootsies cleaned up for sandal weather! I stupidly signed up for TOMS e-mailings and now I was a new pair every week.

Now those Toms I could get behind, not the flat ones. Woohoo, a whole year of writing for Mamas Latinas!! I actually appreciate getting constructive pointers in a review. Truly, it’s helpful. So glad you are moving into your second year now 🙂 I would love to have a room for our homeschool. We have had it before, but not in this house. Makes for a noisy life 😉
