Mount Tamalpais (Sundays In My City)

My eldest enjoying herself in the fog on Mount Tamalpais.

Mount Tamalpais or “Mount Tam” is a California State Park north of the Golden Gate Bridge with a 2,751 foot peak. On a clear day you can see the Farallon Islands that are about 25 miles away. On a foggy day, like the one pictured, sometimes you can’t even seen 25 feet away. The park has over 50 miles of hiking trails and it’s popular with bikers, hikers, tourists and locals.

Share your city/town/suburb/you name it! Think of this as a photography carnival or photography meme (with or without words) that not only lets you share your part of the world, but lets you visit other parts of the world virtually. If you link up, please link back or post the Sundays In My City button either in your post or sidebar to let people know that other bloggers are sharing their communities too. Happy trails!

Honestly, what I like best about your Sunday’s in my city is the memories it always brings back of my days living in San Francisco.

It’s a pretty swell place to live. I’m not going to argue with you on that. I love this city very much.

The drive up is a bit terrifying for me because it the road winds so much. And this time it was so foggy that you could hardly see if there was a car in front of you, but it is incredible once you get to the top.

I well remember that thick fog from my growing up years in Concord. Nice to see it, I can almost feel it on my face!

These pictures are so cool! I wish when we were in California we had more time to go to the state parks. I hope one day we can go back!

I haven’t visited for a while, and that is definitely my loss. These photos are magical! Such a beautiful vista and you have somehow captured the very essence of childhood.
