The Flying Chancla Report

The Flying Chancla Report

Hola Chulas y Chulos! It’s time to get your weekly edition of The Flying Chancla Report. My flying chancla has been through the internet to find items that you will give a flying chancla about.

  • I feel like I have to address this whole Kelly Osbourne la rego on “The View” incident, but honestly the whole thing makes me exhausted. But, let’s do this anyway, shall we? OK, so on Tuesday, Kelly Osbourne was co-hosting “The View” and when Donald Trump came up, Osbourne opened her mouth and metio la pata big time. She said, “If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilets, Donald Trump?”AWKWARD! And then more awkwardness followed as Rosie Perez called her on the comment because you can’t let something like that slide. I don’t even watch “The View,” but I did look up the clip because it got so much buzz and I’m not gonna lie, it makes me feel all kinds of uncomfortable. You can watch it below:

Well, Twitter who is in charge of jumping on these kinds of eff ups, jumped on Osbourne’s case and I AGREE Osbourne needs to be held accountable for her statement because it did not come off well AT ALL. So then Osbourne goes on Facebook to apologize with this update:
Kelly Osbourne Facebook ApologySince the incident, Rosie Perez had gone on Twitter to say,

My apologies @KellyOsbourne, I took your point wrong-#Trump #Latinos. My bad. You’re heart is so pure & righteous. I adore you. @TheView

    — Rosie Perez (@rosieperezbklyn) August 4, 2015

And then people were like, “WTF is Rosie apologizing for?” And my head hurts. Yes, I think that what Kelly Osbourne said was stupid and I’m so glad Rosie Perez called her out on it, but I can’t sustain my anger toward Kelly Osbourne. I don’t think she’s the enemy. I think she effed up and hopefully we can all learn something from this. I know there are many who want to point out that this is karma considering that Osbourne left “Fashion Police” over offensive comments that co-host Giuliana Rancic made about Zendaya’s hair in dreadlocks. All I’m saying is that people mess up. They open their mouths and say ignorant things (myself included) and hopefully when they are called on their ignorance, they use it to grow and learn how to speak better and the rest of us should use the incidents to grow and learn as well. I have no interest in ruining someone’s career over an idiotic comment that I don’t even think they meant. I do have an interest in keeping someone like Donald Trump from being president though. Let’s keep it all in perspective. Let’s keep talking about the issues. Let’s realize that we all have room to grow. And that’s all I have to say on that.

  • Well, since the Kelly Osbourne situation left so many of us feeling prickly, howz about we enjoy a prickly pear frozen margarita? I don’t know about you, but I totally missed celebrating National Tequila Day on July 24 this year. No worries, I feel like it doesn’t have to be a holiday to toast to tequila. Get the full recipe for this prickly pear frozen margarita at The Other Side of The Tortilla and while you are there look around because YUM!
