“Poème de la vigne” (Poem of the Vine) cast in 1882, a very large bronze vase by Gustave Doré (French, 1832–1883), sits outside of the DeYoung Museum.
Bronze turtle sundial created by Melvin Earl Cummings in 1907 is located outside of the DeYoung Museum on Museum Drive.
“The Thinker” cast around 1904, bronze signed by Auguste Rodin (1840-1917), sits in the courtyard in front of the main entrance to the Legion of Honor.
William McKinley monument by Robert Ingersall Aitken was erected in 1904 in honor of the 25th president who had been killed three years earlier. The monument stands proudly at the beginning of the Golden Gate Panhandle on Baker Street.
