The Flying Chancla Report

The Flying Chancla Report

Hola Chulas y Chulos! How are my favorite hijos de la chanclada doing? It’s been a rough week for me. My beautiful far-too-young-not-to-be-alive prima passed away. It was so unexpected and feeling so sad. Sigh. Anyway, my chancla and I haven’t really been making the rounds on the internet as much as usual because we’ve been so blue, but we did manage to find a few things that we think you will give a flying chanclazo about.

  • I’m not really sure how my chancla and I feel about this, but according to Delish crème filled Oreo Churros are now available nationwide in the freezer section of grocery stores. I’m sure Mexican American stoners nationwide will be rejoicing because bicultural munchie cravings can now be satisfied.

  • Have you ever wondered what real cholas think about celebrities who cop their style? Well, you need not wonder anymore because my buddies at We are MiTú asked actual cholas to critique celebrity chola-inspired fashion and filmed it so we could all be privy to the info. I love this video. Check it out!

  • I’ve watched this video of a father explaining to his young son that even though there are bad people with guns who hurt people in France and everywhere they will not have to leave their home because “they might have guns, but we have flowers.” As a parent, I am so incredibly impressed by this father. He manages to point out the beautiful in what is a terrifying situation and he’s right the flowers are a symbol that there is more good than bad in this world. Love will always win…ALWAYS. What a great dad.

That’s it for this week’s The Flying Chancla Report. I love you mucho and remember, spread love, not chanclazos!
