How to Visit a Doctor Without Leaving Your Home

LiveHealth Online

This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with Anthem Blue Cross and #WeAllGrow Latina Network.

When I was growing up, every time my mother or abuela had to see a doctor that didn’t speak Spanish I had to act as an interpreter and quite frankly it sucked. I did my best, but inevitably things got lost in translation, instructions were confusing to translate and a patient is always better served when they can communicate directly with the health professional treating them. Being dependent on a translator when it comes to your health is never ideal.

Fast forward to the present and the exciting news that now for the first time EVER in California, Anthem Blue Cross members have an easy and convenient way to see a Spanish-speaking doctor for non-emergency needs when their own doctor is not available.

Using their smartphone or tablet, members can choose a US-based, board-certified doctor to have a live video visit with in Spanish to discuss common health conditions. This can happen from home, work or anywhere that has internet access.

LiveHealth Online App

How to Schedule an Online Doctor’s Visit

Anthem Blue Cross members can access Cuidado Médico on LiveHealth Online using the free LiveHealth Online app. Doctors are available from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. PST, 365-days a year, including holidays.

Cost of an Online Doctor’s Visit

This is a covered benefit under member health care plans and the cost of the visit often ends up being the same or less than a regular office visit.

If you live in California, but are not covered by Anthem Blue Cross or do not have any health insurance, you can also access Cuidado Médico on LiveHealth Online in Spanish for $49 per visit.

Benefits of Seeing a Doctor Online with Cuidado Médico on LiveHealth Online

  • Ease of communication. If Spanish is your first language, you get to pick a doctor who can speak to you in Spanish.
  • Affordability. It’s part of your coverage if you are an Anthem member and you won’t be paying what it would cost to go to an urgent care clinic.
  • Convenience. You don’t have to leave your home to see a doctor. Think of all the times you’ve had a cold or the flu or a migraine or upset stomach and the only way you could see a doctor was to leave the house and sit in a waiting room feeling even more miserable. Now, you don’t have to go anywhere to get medical advice from an ACTUAL doctor.
  • Accessibility. Doctors are available EVERY day of the year from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. PST.

If you ask me, seeing a doctor with Cuidado Médico on LiveHealth Online is even better than an old-fashioned doctor house call because you don’t have to run around trying to clean the place before the doctor shows up.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of LiveHealth. The opinions and text are all mine.
