The Flying Chancla Report: Keep Your Hands off My Maracas

The Flying Chancla Report

Hola Chulas y Chulos! My chancla and I are exhausted and worn down from all the nonsense worthy of chanclazos going on in the world. We need a break. We need to focus on something that makes us smile instead of making us want to smack ourselves across the face with a chancla, amirite? That’s why this week’s The Flying Chancla Report is coming at ya with some adorableness involving a little girl and maracas.

Here we go…

I don’t know about you, but I don’t like it when people grab my things without my permission and I REALLY don’t like it when people grab my things after I have explicitly told them not to. I know I’m not alone and that this kind of “don’t grab my ish unless I say it’s OK” kind of attitude starts at a young age because that’s exactly what’s going on in a video that’s getting quite a bit of play online.

The little girl featured in the video does not want her daddy playing with her maracas. She’s in another room when she hears pops grab the maracas. Baby girl is NOT havin’ it. She charges into the room to scold him, take the maracas away and says, “No, no, no, no!”

She’s not old enough to really say much, but she does a great job of communicating that the maracas are off limits.

Does dad listen? Of course not because it’s too much fun to watch this child do her “keep your hands off my maracas” bit. After the fifth time of running in and chastising her dad for not keeping his hands of her maracas, she’s done and takes the maracas with her. Smart kid.

The video was submitted to the Love What Matters Facebook page by D. Purdy. The purpose of the Facebook page is to “celebrate love in all forms” and features videos and photos that celebrate love and inspire hope. I love it.

This particular video is a great reminder that no matter what the heck is going on in the world, you don’t have to look very far to find love and joy.

Did you notice that her older brother is sitting on one of the sofas playing on his tablet the entire time and tuning everything else out? Too funny.

That’s it for this week’s The Flying Chancla Report. I love you mucho and remember, spread love, not chanclazos!
