It’s time to make some Wednesday Wishes. Perfect timing as far as I’m concerned because I’m in some kind of a funk and need to focus on what I want instead of bitchin’ about the things that are currently irritating me (i.e. EVERYTHING). Join me, won’t you?
Here’s what I’m wishing for…
For myself:
- It has been a really hard couple of weeks for me, Universe. I’m adapting to my changing meds dosage, my therapist is no longer my therapist (she’s a resident who is moving on), humanity has been showing its lack of humanity all over the place and now, to top it all off, I’m on my PERIOD! Really, Universe?! I am a crying, sulking, broken-out, moody mess of a person. Help me out. Remind me that this is all temporary, that thoughts are only thoughts, that this too shall pass and that in so many ways I am blessed.

For others:
- My buddy Leslie, put a call out for silent prayers so I would like to LOUDLY wish on her behalf. I am not privy to what is going on in her life and what she is praying for, but you are, so please be kind to her and listen to her prayers and grant her wishes. Thank you.
- Ariana is wishing for world peace and NO, she is not a beauty pageant contestant. She simply wants what so many of us want. Peace, peace, peace.
- Audrey wants some of that peace too and she requests that it come without Trump. You know kind of like leaving the mayo off of a sandwich? This would be like leaving the Trump off of the peace sandwich we all want.
- Connie’s father in law was laid off and he is his family’s sole provider. Please help him find employment quickly. I would like to add a wish on his behalf as well. I know what it feels like to be laid off and it’s not pleasant. My wish is that he realizes that he is so much more than one circumstance of his life and that this situation does not define who he is nor is it a measure of his worth.
- Lorraine has come to the very accurate conclusion that “the world needs more ‘chill’” and when she’s right, she’s right.
- My new friend Mario is wishing for his “heart to beat calmly and to be honestly happy with no regrets.”
- Kaylia is wishing for good eye pressure.
- Sonia is wishing for “Peace and Faith in His/Her will.” I continue to wish for resplendent financial security for her.
- Alicia’s husband is having surgery on Friday. May everything go smoothly and may he heal quickly. Ease his nerves and his family’s, too.
- Will is worried that he sounds like a broken record for continuing to wish for a fulltime gig with San Francisco City and/or County, but I tried to put it in perspective by telling him that his repeated wishes are simply the chorus to the song he is currently singing and that some wishes take longer than others to fulfill. Help him get that J-O-B and please keep him motivated and hopeful.
- Tina is open to a new job, peace, love and happiness. Send ALL of that her way.
- Suzette wants “to accomplish some things and to also get some playdates for Dylan.” She’s been “feeling a terrible sense of ennui and futility this week” and recognizes that perhaps killing time on Facebook isn’t the best way to “get something done.” Well, I think her wishes should most definitely be granted and that she should get bonus points for using the word “ennui” because I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen anyone else use it on FB and correctly to boot. I like the word so much that if I were to have another child I might name that child Ennui Weltschmerz.
- Kelly would like you to inspire Congress to pass a strong gun control bill.
