Moving…

Today reality is kicking me in the butt. It almost feels like reality is having a conversation with me. It’s not being unkind, it’s just making me face facts.

Today, I had to face the fact that I might have to move. I don’t want to move, but I might have to move to San Diego to be closer to my extended family in order to cut expenses.

Today, I was also contacted by MeatHead Movers to tell you about their services and what makes them different. Oh and they happen to have Meatheads available in San Diego and are available to do long distance moves. Weird coincidence, right?

I hate moving! I moved so much when I was a child, that as an adult I’ve done my best to avoid moving. I don’t want to move, I really don’t, but the truth is that if things keep going the way they are I might not have a choice. If I do have to move, I’m going to need someone else to do the heavy lifting for me because I can’t fit everything my family has into the back of a pick-up truck anymore.

Meathead Movers has some really cool things going for them, for example:

  • they hire local student athletes (background checked, no temp hires)
  • they put their employees through physical training and are the only movers that jog when they aren’t carrying items to save time and money
  • they pay their employees more when nothing is broken
  • they move women who are victims of domestic violence for free

This list goes on and you can check out one of their FB pages for more info.

I hope with all my being that I do not have to move, but if I have to in order to improve the welfare of my children I will and it’s nice to know that there are movers out there that I can trust to take care of my stuff and be around my family.

Sounds good. My sisters and I are contemplating a move to Kentucky (to get a fresh start, we have family there and cheaper cost of living) So I know what you mean.

I know, stuff!  Where does it all come from?  I strongly suspect the other human beings in my house are bringing it all in!

I’ve check the calendar and it’s definitely not April 1. I pray that this doesn’t happen. Instead…move to the East Bay! It’s a lot cheaper over here.

Oh Mami, I totally feel your pain! Moving totally sucks. Having grown up an military brat, I know firsthand how difficult moving can be. I certainly hope things work out for you and you won’t have to move. Sending you positive thoughts and love Mami!

I hate moving too… but I’ve been to San Diego and it rocks!

Just… make sure you don’t forget your heart. It would be a tragedy to leave it in San Francisco…

Moving sucks. But it is better with movers.

I love that they move domestic violence victims for free. That is awesome!

I’ve always wondered about those type of services. Sorry to hear that you have to move when you don’t really want to. Well, not too sorry b/c you’ll be closer to LA! 😉

I hate moving too. Moving is always traumatic. Losing friends, favorite places, and comfort. I moved way too much myself. In fact, my last move is still in the garage almost a year later. I have no idea what to do with all that stuff. I will say, if I ever move again, I will most definitely hire some meatheads!

I’ll be in San Diego on Saturday for vacation and my 40th Birthday. Woo!

From someone who has moved 3 times in the last year….one of them across country….I completely understand.  At least the cross country one was a move that we wanted to make.  If we hadn’t, it would have been terrible.  I really hope that you don’t have to make any moves that you don’t want to make; but, if you find yourself in that position, I pray that it works out better than you ever imagined.  It’s nice that you’ve found someone to help you should that need arise.  Have a beautiful day!  Candace

Finding good movers makes all the difference….moving is hard it sucks but when it’s for the best of family it’s what you have to do. Most days I question this move and hate it but when I look at my daughter and the opportunities she has I know in my heart it was best.

I’m sorry that you might have to move, but that moving company sounds like its run by good people so at least if you went with them, you’d be in good hands.

I was sorry to read you are unhappy about moving, try to see it as the next stage in life’s adventure instead of a chore.
