Not too Shabby

Having 2 kids in less than 3 years when you are not a spring chicken does a number on your body. My body is definitely different and I’m not yet comfortable with it. I’m not used to living in it the way it is. I keep thinking of it the way it used to be and quite frankly missing it.

But you know what? That’s not right. I live in the present and so does my body. I need to celebrate it now.

I love clothes! Always have, always will. To me they are another way of expressing yourself. A beautiful dress can make you feel wonderful and put a spring in your step. I always feel better if I am wearing something that fits me well and expresses a bit of who I am.

My body is beautiful now, just as it is and it deserves to wear lovely things. Lucky for me and my body that Shabby Apple got in touch and asked if I would be interested in reviewing one of their dresses. The answer was a resounding YES! I’ve seen their dresses, I’ve coveted their dresses.

Still, I was a little scared because my body is not what it used to be. What if I couldn’t find a dress that fit correctly? I’m nursing and have ginormous breasts, my tummy is more like rolling hills than the flatland it used to be. I checked out their sizing charts and saw that they don’t just make dresses for itty bitty ladies and I went for it.

And this is what I got…

I love it. My picture does not do the color justice; it is a beautiful vibrant shade of green and it has lovely detailing around the neck.

I’m so happy to have a lovely new dress and when I look in the mirror I’m thinkin’ that what I see, even after 2 kids in less than 3 years, is not too shabby at all.

I received the Mariposa Grove dress to facilitate this review. All statements and opinions are mine.

My wife is also very curvy and that is the way women should be. That and comfortable with who and what they are. Good for you.

That dress looks fabulous.  I have severe booty problems.  Like lots and lots of junk in my trunk…..hips, thighs, belly, butt…………but anything from the waist up looks anorexic.  Wonder if they’d send me a dress to review?  Or is my body that hopeless?

Be quiet! Your body is not hopeless…go for full skirt, tight bodice (sort of 50’s silhouette).

Ooh la la, I’d say you need to put that dress on, grab Papi and have a night out. Oops, 2 little kids…..so put on that dress, grab Papi and dance around the living room.

You go, girl! That’s one hot dress for one hot mama.

Hey – I’m not the 20-something weighing in at 120 pounds, all 5’10” of me – not anymore. And I still got whistled at today. Curves rule. Love them and enjoy the envy you see on every little stick figure that passes by!

That IS a beautiful dress! I am in the same boat. But now my kids are older, so I don’t have much of an excuse for looking the way I do! Still, I miss my old body. Thanks for introducing me to the Shabby Apple. I will go and take a look!

Not too shabby at all! I have coveted Shabby Apple myself and that dress is gorgeous. More importantly, however, is “YOU are gorgeous!”. Not just “after two kids gorgeous” but just plain GORGEOUS!!!!

That’s lovely. I’d sure settle for “not too shabby” but alas for me, it’s more like “much too flabby.”

Mami, you look fabulous in the dress, well, fabulous in anything really. I would like a figure like yours. I like the ruffly part on the dress and the slight flow on the skirt part.
