Disneyland Resort treated my family to complimentary Disneyland Park and Disneyland California Adventure Park tickets, as well as a two-night stay at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and food to munch on during their Halloween Time celebration.
I was beyond thrilled to get the invite from Disneyland to come and experience Halloween Time and could not say YES fast enough. I had never been to Disneyland during Halloween Time and I can’t wait to share what it was like with you because it was so EXTRA.
If you’re like most parents with young kids, you don’t need to be convinced to visit Disneyland because it’s D-I-S-N-E-Y-L-A-N-D for crying out loud, but if you are considering visiting Disneyland with your family and aren’t sure what time of year to go, may I suggest you go during Halloween Time?
What is Halloween Time at Disneyland?
Imagine Disneyland getting all dressed up and decked out for Halloween, that’s what Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA is like. Both Disneyland Park and Disneyland California Adventure Park get all frightfully delightful with holiday overlays, Halloween décor, seasonal treats and Disney characters displaying Halloween spirit.
Here are just five reasons why you should consider visiting Disneyland during Halloween:
1. The Decor
The Halloween-themed decorations abound at the parks and Disney hotels.
And, although, the decor is Halloween-inspired, it’s not too scary for younger kids.
It’s more of an autumnal feel with a bit of whimsical spookiness thrown in.
And if you’re lucky you might get to see Mickey in his finest Halloween duds.
2. The Food
Let’s talk about the food! Because FOOD is life. So many meals to choose from like Cafe Orleans, Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill, Flo’s V8 Cafe and more. But wherever you choose to eat be sure to leave room for dessert because it wouldn’t be Halloween Time without some Halloween treats.
You’ll go batty for these cookies.
There are also ah-maize-ing candy corn cookies to be had.
And macaron lovers can bite into yummy mummies.
It’s a non-stop parade of ghoulish delights.
3. The Goods
Check out the Halloween Time merchandise!
There are ears that are just perfect for autumn!
And how cute are these Mickey and Minnie Halloween stuffies?
Oh, and if you are staying at one of the Disney hotels, you can order a custom gift from Disney Floral & Gifts and have it waiting in your room ready to surprise your family when you arrive.
Or if you’re feeling extra EXTRA, you can get the whole room decorated with a door banner, an exclusive blanket, treats and all kinds of goodies.
4. The Weather
Anaheim can get HOT. And I’m not going to lie to you, it’s not cool in the fall, but chances are that you will get weather that is much more pleasant than it would be in the summer. We went from September 16th to September 18th and the weather was in the mid to low 80s during the day. Definitely not cool, but far better than the mid to high 90s that summer visitors sometimes experience.
And the nights are perfection! Warm enough to go sweaterless without being chilly.
5. It’s still Disneyland
Finally, when all is said and done, you still get to experience all the great things you expect from Disneyland all year round, you just get extra Halloween fun.
Check out this video of our two-day stay to see how much fun we had.
